Psalm 16 (selected verses)
1 Preserve me, O God: for in THEE do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, THOU hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all MY delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: THOU maintainest my lot.

1 In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: HIS eyes behold, HIS eyelids try, the children of men.

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Making your own recording from scripture God has given in times of need

During a very difficult trial of this life, God gave me 14 scriptures to give me strength to go in the way HE had shown me and to have faith in HIM.
I recorded the scriptures HE gave me and when I would go to bed, I turned on the sound and listened to those scriptures, sometimes falling asleep in the comfort and assurance of those scriptures.
This really helped me to endure.
This could really help each of us to do this. Most cell phones have a way you can record your scriptures and play them back when you want to hear them.
I will record a small podcast of current verses which God has given me to help me.

Sometimes an individual will come to me showing great love for the message I carry from God, only to stay awhile and them disappear.
Ezekiel 33:31-33
31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as MY people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

1 (A Psalm of David.) Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD (The Word); and HE shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in HIM; and HE shall bring it to pass.

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 For such as be blessed of HIM shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of HIM shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in HIS way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with HIS hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD, and keep HIS way, and HE shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

Death is like "falling asleep." But at the moment of death, our spirit leaves our body. And according to the Bible, we sleep in Jesus. (I Thessalonians 4 When Jesus returns with a shout we will awaken and God gives us a new spiritual body. We will not have these physical bodies which have pain, decay, and even death.
I Thessalonians 4:13-17
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
With this shout, those who sleep in Jesus will awaken!
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The moment we die, our spirit leaves our body. Therefore our spirit is not buried with our bodies in a grave.

My cousin's husband died. She was with him at the time. She said, "Thurman reached over and patted my hand and just "fell asleep".
She told me she was going to visit his grave. I asked, "Why would you do that? Thurman is not in a grave. He left his body the second he fell asleep."
She thought about what I said, and then she said, "Then it really doesn't matter where we are buried." I replied, "Right."
(I think my cousin was born again at that moment.)

I don't go to a funeral home to visit dead bodies. I am convinced the person who died is not in that dead body. (I want to remember the person as living not as dead.)
Neither do I visit grave yards where dead bodies have been buried. (My father, mother, aunt, uncle are not in those graves! They sleep in Jesus. And at the time Jesus returns to this earth, HE will "shout" and I believe they will awaken from sleep to the resurrection in a new spiritual body.
(Paul tells us that our physical body will be changed to a new spiritual body.)
I Corinthians 15
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (God is a "spirit". John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth .... We will be raised as "spirit" not as a physical body.)
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(Blink ... that is how fast we will be changed from this physical body.)
Revelation 21:3-5 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
I Corinthians 15
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

I Thessalonians 4

When a person died, the spirit of that person leaves his body. Falling asleep, in Jesus. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead,
The spirit is not in a grave in the ground with the body after he falls asleep (dies). At the time of death, the spirit leaves the body.
God gives us a new spiritual body. (I Cor. 15:48-51)
God has created a new heaven and earth in which we live in a new spiritual body. There is no death there, no pain, no sorrow. God showed this "new Jerusalem to the apostle John" and he wrote about this so we could know what it was like. (Rev. 21:1-5)
The pagan who know not God or Jesus sorrow greatly over death. Paul didn't want us to act like those pagan because we know the truth from the Bible about physical death.

2 Thessalonians 2
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
I was reading this scripture in 1982 and God explained to me, "The falling away are not people leaving the churches. The falling away are the church groups leaving some of the scriptures and setting up doctrines to approve that which pleases men."
Antichrist is a spirit that comes into churches where scripture is removed.
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
When Jesus returns HE will judge this:
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of HIS mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of HIS coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
