1 The LORD (The Word) is my shepherd; I shall not want.
 
2 HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside the still waters.
 
3 HE restoreth my soul: HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.
 
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for THOU art with me; THY rod and THY staff they comfort me.
 
5 THOU preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: THOU anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
 
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (WITH THE WORD)

1   The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
 
2 For HE hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
 
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in HIS holy place?
 
4 HE that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
 
5 HE shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
 
6 This is the generation of them that seek HIM, that seek thy face, O Jacob.
 
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
 
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD (THE WORD) strong and mighty, the LORD (THE WORD) mighty in battle.
 
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
 
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD (THE WORD) of hosts, HE is the King of glory.

1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? HIM shall HE teach in the way that he shall choose.
 
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
 
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear HIM; and HE will shew them HIS covenant.
 
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD (TOWARD THE WORD); for HE shall pluck my feet out of the net.
 
16 Turn THEE unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
 
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring THOU me out of my distresses.
 
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
 
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
 
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in THEE.
 
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
 
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

1   Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD (THE WORD); therefore I shall not slide.

4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in HIS temple.
 
5 For in the time of trouble HE shall hide me in HIS pavilion: in the secret of HIS tabernacle shall HE hide me; HE shall set me up upon a rock (THE WORD).
 
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in HIS tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
 
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
 
8 When THOU saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, THY face, LORD, will I seek.
 
9 Hide not THY face far from me; put not THY servant away in anger: THOU hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
 
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
 
11 Teach me THY way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
 
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
 
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
 
14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and HE shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

1  Unto THEE will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if THOU be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
 
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto THEE, when I lift up my hands toward THY holy oracle.
 
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
 
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
 
5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of HIS hands, HE shall destroy them, and not build them up.

8 The LORD is their strength, and HE is the saving strength of HIS anointed.
 
9 Save thy people, and bless THINE inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

1 The king (DAVID) shall joy in THY strength, O LORD; and in THY salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
 
2 THOU hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips.
 
3 For THOU preventest him with the blessings of goodness: THOU settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
 
4 He asked life of THEE, and THOU gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
 
5 His glory is great in THY salvation: honour and majesty hast THOU laid upon him.
 
6 For THOU hast made him most blessed for ever: THOU hast made him exceeding glad with THY countenance.
 
7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
 
8 Thine hand shall find out all THINE enemies: THY right hand shall find out those that hate THEE.
 
9 THOU shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of THINE anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in HIS wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

1  My God, my God, why hast THOU forsaken me? why art THOU so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
 
2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but THOU hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
 
3 But THOU art holy, O THOU that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
 
4 Our fathers trusted in THEE: they trusted, and THOU didst deliver them.

(Jesus was despised of the people, especially despised of the religious rulers who killed HIM for envy.)
 
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,  8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
 
9 But THOU art HE that took me out of the womb: THOU didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
 
10 I was cast upon THEE from the womb: THOU art my God from my mother's belly.
 
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
 
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
 
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
 
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
 
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and THOU hast brought me into the dust of death.
 
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
 
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
 
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
 
19 But be not THOU far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste THEE to help me.
 
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
 
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for THOU hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
 
22 I will declare THY name (THE WORD) unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise THEE.
 
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise HIM; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify HIM; and fear HIM, all ye the seed of Israel.
 
24 For HE hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath HE hid HIS face from him; but when he cried unto HIM, he heard.
 
25 My praise shall be of THEE (THE WORD) in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear HIM.
 
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD (THE WORD) that seek HIM: your heart shall live for ever.
 
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD (THE WORD): and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before THEE.
 
28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and HE is the governor among the nations.
 
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before HIM: and none can keep alive his own soul.
 
30 A seed shall serve HIM; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
 
31 They shall come, and shall declare HIS righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that HE hath done this.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 
 
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 
 
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 
 
6 For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 
 
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 
 
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 
 
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 
 
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 
 
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 
 
14 Knowing that HE which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 
 
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 
 
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 
 
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 
 
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. 
 
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 
 
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. 
 
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 
 
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father. 
 
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. 
 
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods. 
 
9 And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, 
 
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded. 
 
11 Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept MY covenant and MY statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. 
 
32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. 
 
33 Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. 
 
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. 
 
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. 
 
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.
