After I was born again in 1975, my Church of Christ cousin tried to take over the self-imposed job of being my "spiritual supervisor."
She had recognized that I was now a Christian, and she said:  "I just don't see HOW you can be."
(She didn't understand being born again.  She didn't understand that it is God who does the work in us and she didn't understand the working of the Holy Spirit.)
 
I was 38 years old when I was born again.
 
God caused me to be born again.  God said to me:  "Joan ... you know those mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."
 
Immediately God began teaching me, by the Bible, taking me from scripture to scripture as HE willed to prepare me for the work assigned by HIM.
 
In a local prayer group, God taught me to operate in the spiritual gifts which HE had given me.
 
It was this way:  One day, as the women were praying, I heard these words:  "Look up!"  I raised my head, opened my eyes, and saw on the wall an outline of a part of a human body.  I said to God, "I know that is a part of the human body but I don't know which part."  I heard, "Stomach."  
 
"Oh yes," I responded.  "It is a stomach."  I remembered the Pepto-Bismal  commercials I'd seen on television. 
 
When the women quit praying, I asked, "Does anyone have a stomach problem?"
 
One woman excitedly cried out, "I do!  I do!"
 
After that God would often give me "a word of knowledge" when I attended the prayer group or the single's class at the church.

A few days after I was born again, I was sleeping in the night and was transported into heaven.  I was with God and Christ and the Holy Spirit.  I saw no physical images.  It was a spiritual experience.  At that time, I was "merged into the body of Jesus", made one with the Word of God, God and the Holy Spirit witnessing.
 
A few nights later, the exact same thing happened again.
 
I didn't know what this meant.
 
(Later I came to believe I was ordained at that time into the two ministry offices to which I was called by God:  apostle & prophet)
 
Ephesians 4
 
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  
 
11  And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

God took me through all the scriptures in the Bible concerning prophets, showing me the work of the prophets in the church and teaching me many things about prophets.
 
Also I was shown by God doctrine for the New Testament Church as presented in the Holy Bible, for those called as an apostle have a special ordination to deal with church doctrines.
 
God showed me "many revelations" opening my eyes to understand what the scriptures were saying.
 
(An example:)  
 
Matthew 24:3-5  And as HE (Jesus) sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of THY coming, and of the end of the world?"  4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you.  5 For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
 
Immediately I saw what Jesus meant.  
 
Many would come saying HE, Jesus was Christ, and by saying that they would deceive many.  
 
This is the end-time apostasy in the churches, the "falling away" described by the apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2.
 
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
 
And God said to me:
 
"The falling away are not people leaving the churches. The falling away are the churches leaving the scriptures."

Another scripture which God explained to me was this:
 
Matthew 16:13-17
 
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, HE asked HIS disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14 And they said, Some say that THOU art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?16 And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but MY Father which is in heaven.18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build MY church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.The significant point was not Peter saying Jesus is the Christ.
 
The significant point was the fact that it was God who showed this to Peter.  
 
The Word of God that came down from heaven to the individual was that upon which Jesus would build HIS church. The gates of hell could not prevail over THAT WORD which God gives on the matter at hand.

For the next five years God taught me the Bible and how to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church.  I went to many seminars at various church groups in the Dallas area and at those meetings God often gave me spiritual gifts to share with those church groups.  By these spiritual gifts the churches recognized that a call of God was on my life.  
 
During this time, I owned a small business in Dallas, American Indian Arts.  One day a prophet from our church group came into my shop and said to me:  "Joan ... you are dragging your feet.  You know you are supposed to be in the ministry."
 
(I had already published one book, "Taking Thoughts Captive", but I was still operating a secular business.)
 
I closed the business July 31, 1979, and had already set up papers with the State of Texas and the USA government in 1978 to operate a non-profit church.
 
I waited at my apartment in Dallas for the next 6 months for God to show me what I was to do in ministry.  I lived off the money from the sale of the business.
 
On January 10, 1980, in the night while I was sleeping, a very loud voice spoke three words to me:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"
 
(I believe this was an angel of God speaking to me for the voice was trumpet-like and very strong.)
 
I found KWJS to be a radio station.  I asked God, "Are YOU telling me to go on radio?  I wouldn't know how to do that.  I'm a writer, not a speaker."
 
Immediately I heard:  "Call the radio station manager."
 
That same morning I called the KWJS radio station manager.  I said:  "God might be showing me to go on radio.  How would you do that?"  He replied:  "Make an audition tape 29 1/2 minutes long and send it to me and if you fit our broadcasting we will offer you a contract."
 
I recorded a tape that same morning and put it into the mail and within 5 days I was broadcasting exhortations to the church on radio KWJS.  Within a year, I was on radio from Hartford (NYC) to Seattle just as I heard in that word spoken in the night to me on January 10, 1980:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"
 
We are God's workmanship!  HE does as HE wills with us when HE puts us into the body of Christ.  HE prepares us for the work when HE is going to use us as a minister.  HE teaches us and guides us according to the assignment HE gives us.  HIS way is perfect.  No man can do this.  No school can teach us these things.  God does this HIMSELF.
 
If you are a mother and housewife, God perfects your way in that calling.
 
If you are a businessman, God perfects you in that area.
 
Pam Padgett was given a ministry of "helps".
 
I Corinthians 12:27-28  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  And God hath set some in the church (to work in the church), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
 
God prepared Pam to do work in computers.  
 
When God had me start a blog in 2012, Pam did all technical work for the blog, setting it up for the ministry and publishing exhortations for the church world-wide daily. Later Pam did the technical work for all books that I published on Amazon.  Then in 2020, when we broadcast Podcasts, Pam set this up and chose a host for us so our exhortations could be presented.
 
God has the way set up for us in all that HE wants us to do.

Ephesians 2:20  For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
 
So after you are born again, follow the Holy Spirit and do the scriptures as HE shows you and you will end up where God wants you as you are left on this earth.
 
Follow God.
 
No human can do for you that which God will do.

Women speaking in the church

When God made it clear to me that I was to function in the church in the offices of apostle and prophet, I asked God,  "How can this be when Paul said let women keep silence in the churches?"
 
God said to me:  "Look at what these women were doing."
 
I Corinthians 14:34-35  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
 
I believe God was showing me these women were disrupting the gathering of the church by asking questions.
 
Then God said to me:  Look at the 4 daughters of Philip.  They were prophets.  They would have to speak to the church to prophesy.
 
Acts 21:8-9  And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. 9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
 
To prophesy you would have to speak to the church.
 
And God reminded me of Anna and Deborah:
 
Luke 2:36-39  And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of HIM to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
 
Judges 4:4-5  And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
 
When God showed me these scriptures I agreed to serve the church as HE showed me:
 
Apostles:  Deal with scripture and help establish the doctrines of Christ in the churches.
 
Prophets:  Often carry corrections and exhortations to the churches.

I Corinthians 14

Let all things be done unto edifying.27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(God showed me these women were disrupting the flow of the spirit of God.  God said to me, "Look at what these women were doing.")36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Tongues in the churches

We can see by I Corinthians 14, that the church people of Paul's day greatly desired the gift of tongues.  Paul says to the church:
 
I Corinthians 14
 
1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

Rules for speaking in tongues in the church:

Paul shows us a mystery: Not all will die. Some will still be alive on this earth when Jesus returns to raise the dead and gather HIS elect from off the earth,

I Corinthians 15:21-22  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Worldly people often say:  Death comes to all.
 
These people who know not the Holy Scriptures believe what they speak to be truth and wise.
 
But the apostle Paul says:
 
I Corinthians 15:33-34  Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
 
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(Blink ... That is how fast we will be changed into our new bodies, our spiritual bodies.  We will not have these earthly bodies in heaven but we will be created into the image of God, who is spirit, before we are taken into heaven.)53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The apostle John was given a vision of the new heaven and new earth which was created by God for us. 
 
Revelation 21
 
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God HIMSELF shall be with them, and be their God.4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And HE said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.6 And HE said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto HIM that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be HIS God, and he shall be MY son.8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

By faith in Jesus Christ, The Word of God, we overcome all things.  Problems come to us on this earth.  We cry out to God.  God speaks HIS Word to us concerning that problem.  And we overcome the problem by our faith in that Word which God spoke to us.
 
Jesus says:
 
Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.

At the second coming of Jesus, the dead in Christ are raised first:
 
1 Thessalonians 4
 
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep (dead) .16 For the Lord HIMSELF shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

After the dead in Christ are raised and taken into heaven, those elect of God who are still alive on this present earth, will be gathered together by the angels of Jesus and taken into heaven.
 
Matthew 24
 
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And HE shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

After the children who belong to God are taken into the new heaven and new earth which is created by God for them, then God will destroy this present heaven and earth with fire.
 
2 Peter 3
 
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The members of Christ are the body of Christ

I Corinthians 12
 
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.14 For the body is not one member, but many.15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased HIM.19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

I Corinthians 12

God assigns roles to the individuals to serve the church.
 
Ephesians 4:8;11-16   Wherefore HE saith, When HE (Jesus) ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men ... And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into HIM in all things, which is the head, even Christ:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Spiritual gifts and offices for the church given by God

Spiritual gifts are given to individuals in the church for the purpose of helping the church and they are given for the church by the Spirit of God and administered to the church such as this:
 
Acts 19:11-12  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:  So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

I Corinthians 12
 
4 Now there are diversities of gifts (different gifts), but the same Spirit.5 And there are differences of administrations (the action of dispensing, giving, or applying something), but the same Lord.6 And there are diversities of operations (methods of dealing with), but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
(God often showed me word of knowledge by an outline on a wall in the room, sort of like an outline on a television screen)7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE will.

Romans 12

The LORD’S Supper is the Word of God

16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.(Bread is food.  The food from God is the Word of God which we eat and drink, doing that word of God which comes down from heaven.)
 
18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
 
We put our trust in God.  We go to dinner with Gentiles and they raise their drink glass to their gods and click their glasses together "for luck".
 
When I am at their table, I don't make any effort to raise my glass to their wishes.  They see me just sit there and they know I do not wish to participate with them and they ignore me and go on with their good luck wish and click their glasses together worshiping the "god" , but I don't join them.
 
In the USA, there is a "saying" that for good luck you eat black eyed peas on New Years Day.
 
I want my "luck" to come from God.  I do not seek luck from things I eat on a feast day.  So I do not join them in this pagan thinking.
 
At many Christian churches, they have what they call "communion" which is eating a piece of cracker and drinking some grape juice.  But I know the Lord's Supper, the communion with God, is the eating and drinking of the Word of God and has nothing to do with crackers and grape juice.
 
I do not participate in eating of crackers and drinking of grape juice at a church service, because I know this is not the Lord's Supper but is a tradition set up by men and has no real power of God.
 
The proper eating and drinking of the Word of God is eating the food God provides for the church,the WORD, and has great power.
 
I Corinthians 11
 
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which HE was betrayed took bread:24 And when HE had given thanks, HE brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is MY body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of ME.25 After the same manner also HE took the cup, when HE had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in MY blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
 
(Jesus is speaking of the bread that comes from God, the word of God during the gathering of the church.  And Jesus speaks of the New Testament in HIS blood, the Word of God that comes from God, the New Testament for the New Testament church.  We examine ourselves to see how we are partaking of HIS Word.  And by the Word HE gives us we examine the way we are going on this earth and make proper corrections as needed.)26 For as often as ye eat this bread (the word), and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till HE come.27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread (the word), and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.28 But let a man examine himself (by the Word), and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup (examining himself by the Word).29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
 
(For example:  We read, "Flee fornication,"  I Cor. 6:18  And some go out and commit fornication, "eating the word unworthily" and they bring upon themselves damnation by wrongfully eating and drinking the Word of God.)30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep (die).31 For if we would judge ourselves (by the Word of God), we should not be judged.32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
 
(Be patient for one another for someone may need to hear that word while you have heard that word many times.  Be patient in repetitions, "tarry one for another.")

Along the way, problems pop up.  We learn to call on God and HE helps us.
 
The devil will destroy us if we allow him to do so.
 
I Peter 5:6-10  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon HIM; for HE careth for you.
 
(Pour out your heart in prayer to GOD,  God will strengthen you.  God will help you.  God will uphold you with the right hand of HIS righteousness.  The devil comes to destroy you with thoughts.  He is a false prophet telling you everything is going to be disastrous.  But remember he, devil, is a false prophet.  Trust in God.  HE will take care of you.  And HE will make a way for you. Follow God as long as HE chooses to leave you on this earth.  Make yourself put your trust in God.  God will lift you up.)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

When God sent the men into search out the land which God said HE would give them, 8 men brought back evil reports.  Only 2 men showed faith in God, Joshua and Caleb.

The 8 men who brought back evil reports were overcome and slain in the wilderness.
 
Joshua and Caleb, who had faith in God. were given the victory. overcame and entered into the promised land as God had promised them.

We overcome all things by faith in God and by HIS power.

Never stop fighting to hold onto faith in God.
 
Fight daily!  Never give up your fight to keep your faith in God and in HIS word.

We keep our flesh under the control of the Spirit.

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings:” Phil 2:14In other words, do everything without complaining and without strife and quarreling.A while back this scripture stood out to me and I have been paying extra attention to it … thinking about what it is telling me, asking God to help me with this, and putting it into practice in my personal life when the need is there to do this.I see this so much with my husband because I mostly talk to and with him. But now, when something is said to me that causes a sudden spark of anger to rise up inside me, this scripture will rise up on the heels of the fleshly anger and I find myself being able to overcome my flesh by obeying this scripture.Earlier today I said something to my husband and he answered me in an irritated way. I didn’t say anything to him (because of this scripture) even though my flesh wanted to respond in kind.Then I was reminded that, at the time this happened, he was trying to do something on his laptop and it wasn’t going well so he was annoyed and responded the way he did.So I then prayed that God would help him and it helped me so much to do this. Joan Boney sent an exhortation the other day about how we, as Christians, don’t have to respond in a fleshly way to someone who may say something to us in an unexpected way because they are upset about something.And most of all, I am so grateful to belong to God, to believe His Word and to have His Holy Spirit.💥💥💥💥💥

A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

A commandment of the Lord: If a woman leaves her husband she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. If a divorced woman marries another man, she commits adultery.

The only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife is if she is unfaithful to him.
 
The faithful wife will commit adultery if her husband divorces her and she marries another man but her husband will be the cause of her adultery.
 
The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Twice men in church groups have said to me, ”God knows we need sex.” But I know what God intended through the Bible.

When God causes you to be born again, God gives you the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you

Jesus says the following about the working of the Holy Spirit in the believer:
 
John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
 
HE leads us and guides us into the way of God by bringing gentle thoughts to our mind so we can go in a better way as we live on this present earth.  HE lives in us.

Pam Padgett was raised in the Catholic church.
 
When she was 14, one of her classmates was killed on a motorcycle.  All of a sudden she realized someone her age could die!  The Holy Spirit of God said to Pam, "God is your only hope."  By this she knew that nothing the Catholic church taught could save her, and nothing she or anyone else could do would save her. (No church can save us, only God can save us.)  And Pam knew if she died at that moment she would go to hell and she cried out to God asking HIM to save her if at all possible
 
After that Pam realized there was something "of God" in her.
 
Years later when she saw the following scripture, she knew what it was of God that was in her.

I Corinthians 6

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Concerning homosexuals and lesbians:

Are you as a Christian going to enter into law suits to get things of this world?

I Corinthians 6:1-8  1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Genesis 14:21-23  And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
 
I want my "wealth" to come from God.  It is terrible to think of a Christian who wants to win the lottery and take wealth from men of this present world.

Where there is envy, strife, and divisions, Paul says ”Ye are carnal and walk as men”

I Corinthians 3  (Paul says)
 
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

At the prayer group I attended when I was a new Christian, God would often give me a word of knowledge and I would share that with that group.
 
One day the leader of the group said:  "God is no respecter of persons.  If HE will give Joan Boney that word, HE will give me that word."
 
I believe this woman showed herself to be carnal.
 
It doesn't matter who is given a word from God.  What we delight in is getting to hear that word.
 
We glory in the word not in the person who receives the word.

I Corinthians 3
 
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Envy, strife, divisions in the body of Christ are evil.
 
So if any has in his heart these things, pray that you many be cleansed and made right by God.
 
We must not live as the world lives, competing in our hearts against one another or trying to out do one another.  We delight in the Word of God and joy in hearing when someone among us has a word from God.
 
Once a church woman said to me:  "How can I compete with a person who has been taken into heaven twice?  (Meaning me)  Later when I mentioned what she had said, she said she didn't say that.  It seems that sometimes a person gives himself over for devils to use his mouth and then they don't even know they have spoken something evil.
 
When envy and strive and divisions hides in our heart, it shows one way or the other.
 
Repent and pray for God to give you a new heart and a new spirit if you recognize this in your heart.
 
I know when I receive an email from one in the church, I rush to open it to see what God has revealed to that person and I marvel in that which God shares through that person.
 
Certainly there are times they speak and really are just trying to say something and I know that and their word has no power.   (They will receive for that when their work is evil that comes through them.)
 
I Corinthians 3
 
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
 
Examine your heart to see what is really in your heart.
 
If true joy, let joy come forth.
 
But if you are pretending to rejoice, repent.
 
A few days ago, I wrote something and a woman said:  "Amen" and I recognized this as truly coming from her heart on the matter at hand and her word which was pure caused joy in me. She truly meant, "Let it be so."
 
Thus when it is a true and pure reaction from our heart one to another we will be blessed by God.
 
If it is feigned, pretended trying to make oneself be something, that person will suffer loss in heaven.
 
Keep your heart pure and true!
 
Be good and good will come forth from you.
 
If an evil heart is lurking or a grain of resentment has been stored in our heart, then evil will come from our heart.
 
If we are good, good will surface from us.
 
James 3:14-16  But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.  This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
 
Jesus says:
 
Matthew 12:33  Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
 
When I sense evil lurking in my heart, I usually pray:  
 
Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Those who want to be wise

If a brother in Christ is continuing to commit sin

I Corinthians 5
 
1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
Puffed up:  feeling "How could you possibly do that?  I wouldn't do that."
 
Mourned:  grieving over that brother3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
We cannot allow wickedness to sit with us in the church. It will eat through the church as an unattended "canker" (cancer).7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

If a "brother" in Christ be found to be a sinner you must put him away from you.  He knows the doctrine of Christ and is willfully sinning.  
 
He cannot be instructed since he already knows this is a sin.  Therefore there is nothing we can say.
 
We turn him over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh.  We do this by separating from him and by refusing to keep company with him.
 
And we do this that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

In the last days before Jesus returns, many churches will fall away from doctrines of Christ and will set up doctrines of antichrist and the apostasy will be rampant in the churches.
 
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
 
In 1982, God said to me:  "The falling away are not people leaving the churches.  The falling away are the churches leaving the scripture."

When Jesus comes the second time HE will raise the dead in Christ and send HIS angels to gather the elect of God who are still alive on this earth.  And Jesus will destroy antichrist and the apostate churches.
 
Matthew 24:29-31  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And HE (Jesus) shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
 
2 Thessalonians 2:8-12  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of HIS mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of HIS coming:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What the Bible says

Recently, the thought came to my mind, "Is there any place in the Bible where we are told there will be a rise in homosexual/lesbians in the last days?"
 
Immediately I was reminded of this scripture:
 
2 Timothy 3
 
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
 
Concerning being without natural affections:
 
Romans 1:26-28

Once my cleaning lady asked me, "But what about those homosexuals who say they were just born that way?"
 
I turned to God with this question and was reminded of the following:
 
Jesus said:
 
Mark 10:6  But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
 
They were born male or female but God turned them over when they failed to acknowledge HIS truth.
 
Romans 1

From what the Bible says, we certainly should expect to see a rise in homosexuals and lesbians in the last days.
 
And we can see from the Bible God's thinking on this subject.
 
Deuteronomy 23:17  There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
 
There is no place in either the Old or New Testament where God approves homosexuals or lesbians.  Sodom is given to us as one example of God's dealing with this issue.
 
Genesis 19  (God sends 2 angels to destroy Sodom)
 
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
(Angels have the form of natural men.)2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
(Homosexuals came from every quarter of the city of Sodom with the intention of having sex with the 2 men who came to Lot's house.)5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
(know them:  have sex with them)6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.10 But the men (who were angels) put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.12 And the men (the angels) said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. 27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when HE overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
 
2 Peter 2
 
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
(Lot knew the deeds of the men of the city of Sodom were "wicked", see Genesis 19:7 )9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

Before God destroys this present heaven and earth, we should see a rise in homosexuals and lesbians in the nations of this earth and in the approval shown them by the nations of this earth.
 
As Christians, we live in peace, knowing what we can expect to see is foretold by God in the Bible.

The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God to show the will of God to us

I Corinthians 2
 
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The spirit given to us when we believed on God's Word is the Holy Spirit.
 
In the Old Testament God told of the "New Covenant" HE would give to HIS people.
 
Ezekiel 36  (God says)
 
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

"Did God tell me to do this work or to say these Words?"  
 
Is this honestly what I believe in my heart or am I trying to make that person feel better by pretending or by feigned words?  
 
Am I acting and speaking in guile? or in truth?
 
John 1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
(guile: sly or cunning; deviousness; shrewdness; wiles; ploys; schemes; stratagems; tricks)

I share a house with Pam Padgett, a member of the body of Christ.  I know there is no guile in Pam.  I try to keep my own self free from guile.  Therefore we live as the body of Christ, not in pretense or any plots but in sincerity and truth and honesty in Christ the Word.
 
There are others I'm not really sure about.  I suspect some speak trying to please me when what they say is not really what is in their hearts.  This should not be.  
 
Ephesians 4:25  Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

If we speak words which we really do not believe in order to please another person or to impress another person, we lie and speak not the truth, and we sin.
 
Our foundation must be built on truth from our heart.  And our foundation upon which we build must be truth from God by HIS Word.
