Building your house on the word from God

Does it disturb you when there is lawlessness and no judgment? Do you hate seeing churches turn from scripture and set up doctrines opposite from scripture?

Paul described the following concerning the last days:
 
2 Timothy 3
 
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
(This happens in the world and in the church groups.)2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3 Without natural affection (homosexuals & lesbians:  Romans 1:26-28), trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;5 Having a form of godliness (church goers), but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We can feel depressed and hopeless when we realize there is no judgment thus permitting the evil to reign without penalty.
 
We see them investigate and gather evidence but nothing happens to the evil doer.
 
When we see this we must hold our selves up with scripture such as these.
 
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is MINE; I will repay, saith the Lord.
 
Though man often refuses to deal with lawlessness, God will repay and will judge.  We can be assured of that.

The Bible tells us what to do when lawlessness reigns:  "from such turn away".  (2 Tim. 3:5)
 
Turn away and pray, committing the matter to God, know God will judge each evil act of man even now or later at the judgment seat of Christ.
 
I was born again in 1975.  The first church I attended was a group where the pastors were from Dallas Theological Seminary, Bible University scholars.  They were teaching tongues to be from the devil.
 
One day, I read the following in the Bible:  
 
I Corinthians 14:39  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
 
Am I going to attend a church group where the pastor teaches something opposite to the Holy Bible?
 
I quickly made the decision I would not attend any church group where pastor taught against Bible.  I would just leave that church.  ("From such turn away.")

Today 2022, our government established a commission to investigate the January 6, 2021 attack on the capitol building.
 
Even though I am not a political person, voting for neither political party, I was very shocked in that attack.  I saw immediately it was an attempt to overthrow democracy. 
 
So when they formed this committee to investigate this attack, I watched their presentation.
 
Several times I had seen Donald Trump's speech to the group that gathered that day at the White House.  I heard him tell them to go to the capitol and "he" would be with them. I saw them break the windows at the capitol and enter the capitol building.  It was obviously unlawful entry. The police stood against the rioters and caught some of them and put them in jail as you would expect police to do. But no one arrested the man who instigated the riot, the man who called the rioters to come to the capitol that specific day and ordered them to go to take over the capitol and stop the legal government from certifying the 2020 election.
 
I was shocked!  A man incited a riot and the government did nothing but "investigate."
 
I just turned away from watching such on TV.  Commit the matter to God for HIM to judge.  HE will judge.
 
We cannot watch such things and live in peace when there is no justice or attention to lawfulness.  It will bring us down with them if we try to do this.  We will end up depressed and some will be completely swept away from "goodness" when evil reigns.
 
We must put our faith in God.  And we must know God will judge and will reward the lawful and punish the evil doer.  Be assured of this.  
 
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
 
God is just and HE will judge wickedness.

What do we do when there is evil in the church?
 
The apostle Paul tells us what to do:
 
I Corinthians 5:11;13   But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat ... Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
 
2 Timothy 3:5   Having a form of godliness (church goers), but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
 
This is what I do when I see evil that is reigning in a church group without correction.
 
This is what I do when I see an item in this world that is unjust but they will not judge.  I just turn away and refuse to watch.
 
We cannot participate in evil and live in peace.  If we are godly, we will be tormented by the evil.
 
We are seeing perilous times for lawlessness is all around.  Just turn away.  Pray.  Trust God to judge and stop participating in the lawlessness by continuing to watch the lawlessness.  Just turn away ... and follow after those things that make for peace and things whereby we can edify one another through God.
 
We must walk away.
 
(The NASB calls antichrist:  "The man of lawlessness."  2 Thessalonians 2)

Matthew 12

Danger in watching evils on TV and in slipping into delighting into that which is evil in the sight of God

I don't like to see adultery on TV.  I don't even like to see the hint of adultery for I know it is evil.  If evil is in our heart, we will seek out evil on TV and store up evil things by that which we choose to watch on TV.
 
Evil is defined for us by the works of the flesh:
 
I Corinthians 6
 
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (to criticize or abuse in an angry or insulting manner), nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
But if we have been cleansed by God from these sins and we turn back to these sins and delight again in such, we place ourselves in danger.
 
I find movies and TV shows that I once enjoyed before God showed me sins, I cannot watch today.  I have no desire to live in sins of this world nor to watch this world commit sins.
 
And Peter warns us:

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Jesus, the Word, is the way to go.

Live in peace, without spot, and blameless as you wait for the coming of Jesus.

To live above this world, we cannot live the way of this world

Deuteronomy 28
 
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all HIS commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

The way of this world is to buy now and pay later.  Enjoy the things of this world now.  Have it all now. Go into debt and have things now.
 
But consider these scriptures showing us what to do, how we are to live.
 
Deuteronomy 28
 
12 ...  thou shalt not borrow.
 
13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
 
If we choose to live the way of this world, when trouble comes we will go down with this world.

In 1975, when I was born again, one of the first things God showed me was to get out of debt and stay out of debt.  This is what I chose to do.  So I am not affected by interest rates for I have no debt.
 
Also we must choose the following way:
 
1 Timothy 6

(Debt causes a person to love money in spite of themselves.)11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
 
Do the Word of God and continue doing the Word of God, resisting the ways of this world.
 
Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
 
Renew your mind to the scriptures, doing as they say.

In the end time, they will know not until they are swept away as in the days of Noah, but this time by fire

Matthew 24:35-39  Jesus says:
 
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but MY words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but MY Father only.37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

We do not know the day or the hour of Jesus return, but we do know the season, for Jesus says as the buds come on the trees we know spring and summer are near.
 
The signs that the coming of Jesus is near:
 
💥 Jesus cannot return until the apostasy has come into the churches.
 
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come (day of the Lord), except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; 
 
The falling away:  Churches will fall away from scripture and set up other doctrines. Churches changing doctrines, falling away from some of the Holy Scriptures.
 
Antichrist comes into the churches and sits in the "temple of God".
 
This has been happening for many decades.

💥  Violence will increase upon the earth as violence increased in the day of Noah.
 
Genesis 6
 
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that HE had made man on the earth, and it grieved HIM at HIS heart.7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
 
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before ME; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
 
(In the days of Noah the earth was destroyed with water.  That will not happen again.  At the end of this present earth, God will destroy the heaven and earth with fire.)

And Paul says the last days will be perilous times and Paul tells us why this will be.

Will Christians be removed before The Great Tribulation?

We know some Christians will be on the earth at the time of the great tribulation because Jesus says:  
 
Matthew 24
 
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Also Jesus shows us this order:
 
-The great tribulation.
-The powers of heaven will be shaken.
-Jesus returns and gathers the elect of God from this earth.
 
Matthew 24:29-31  Jesus says:
 
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And HE shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Strangers and pilgrims on this earth

The godly men of the Bible viewed themselves as "strangers and pilgrims" in this world.
 
Hebrews 11
 
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for HE hath prepared for them a city.

At the end of this world, the righteous will be taken by Jesus to the city prepared for them by God.
 
Revelation 21
 
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

Praying according to the will of God

Angels carry messages of God, often through dreams

Angels carry messages of God to the people of God.
 
Often God protects us by the message HE sends us by an angel:
 
Matthew 2:13-15  Behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
 
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

In 1982, an angel told me in a dream that I was in great danger  and HE said to me:  "Don't go until you see Exodus 15."  I cancelled my entire schedule and stayed at home in my apartment in Dallas where I recorded exhortations for the church on radio.  But I did not go out where I was in danger.

Angels do not have wings.  Angels look like regular men.
 
Hebrews 13:2  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

God sent two angels to Sodom to deliver Lot and his family from Sodom before God destroyed Sodom.
 
We see by this description that these two angels looked like regular men.
 
Genesis 19
 
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they (the angels) said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
(Lot did not know they were angels.  Lot knew it was dangerous for them to sleep in the street.)3 And he (Lot) pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  (Have sex with them.)6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.10 But the men (the angels) put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.11 And they (the angels) smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

God called me into the ministry in the late l970's.  I was waiting for God to show me where to go.  
 
On January 10, 1980, I was asleep in the night when I believe an angel spoke to me while I slept.  He said:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"   By this, God showed me to go on radio and exhort the church.

An angel of the Lord moved the great stone away from the tomb of Jesus.Luke 24

Angels have great strength and carry messages of God to us as needed.
 
Angels look like natural men.  
 
Angels do according to the will of God and are sent by God to do the works of God for us.

As a new Christian in 1975, I studied all things the angels did in both Old and New Testaments.
 
I saw by these scriptures that God uses angels today for us just as God used angels in the Bible.

I was in bed reading a book when God by HIS Spirit began speaking to me.
 
HE said:  "Joan ... you know all those mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."
 
I was very shocked!  I thought they were mistakes.
 
Many people think they are making mistakes when they are committing sins.
 
When God reveals sin, then you are changed and born again.
 
Galatians 5:19-21
 
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
 
No church can save you.  Only God can save you from your sins.  The church are those who have been saved.

Pam Padgett was a Catholic.  Her classmate was killed on a motorcycle.  She was in high school.  Never before had she considered that someone her age could be killed.  
 
It was strongly put into her mind and heart that, if she died, nothing she had learned in the Catholic church could save her.  Her only hope was God.
 
She began to pray.  She was very frightened.  She said:  "If there is any way YOU can save me please do so."
 
After she prayed that, she realized there was something "of God" in her.

Years later, she read the following Bible verse and then she realized what it was that was in her.

When God arranges our life!

I'm so happy with my life.
God has worked old age out so well for me. (I'm 84.) 
One of the greatest things is I'm not alone and God fixed it so I live with a truly godly person.   If we disagree (which is rare) God changes one of us so we agree. It is not that we pray together in same room.But I know we both pray in our own separate rooms when there is a problem and God brings unity and shows us what to do and we live in great peace.
Financially it is wonderful. 
 
After the house in Texas sold, of course my expenses were reduced dramatically, not having house upkeep. Pam didn't want any money for me to live here but I insisted on paying monthly and I told her just put the money in her savings account. I started paying $500 per month, then raised it to $700 then $800 then $1000, although she didn't want me to pay more.  This helps offset expenses, although Pam has plenty of money to pay.  She can just keep accumulating the money I give her and use it for unexpected repair expenses.
 
Both of us have plenty of money to meet both needs and desires.
 
Psalm 23
 
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.2 HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside the still waters.3 HE restoreth my soul: HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.

Last summer Pam put shutters upstairs ... things like that are very affordable for her, especially with the money I pay. I have shutters in my room and she really came to like them.We put a line cleaner in the house which cleans up electricity for whole house. This helps greatly with sound and TV picture ... (picture on TV is about 25% better).  Also whole house is protected from power surges supposedly. New car was purchased in June 2020 ... we have 6000 miles on car. We find when we want to go somewhere we are satisfied by driving about 10 miles north on the back road to Denver! Beautiful horse ranches ... valleys, Ponderosa trees, beautiful leaf change on cottonwoods and maples ... (We have 2 dogs and added 2 kittens which have been great fun for us.)And best of all I have plenty to occupy my time here in my bedroom by writing the blog and doing the podcast recordings. 
I worked through the examples in Old Testament showing how we apply these things to our life today.
 
I publish a podcast daily to exhort the church in ways of God. 
 
(Since starting Podcasts in Feb. 6, 2020, I have published 917 episodes ... because in Bible, Heb 3, God says: Exhort one another daily ... so that is what I do with Podcasts. 
 
And each Podcast goes all over the world so church that cares to hear can hear daily exhortations.) 
I have Roku streaming and subscribe to Brit Box ... British mysteries mostly from BBC.A simple, satisfying life.I love the cooler weather here.  (I moved from Texas to Colorado on February 24, 2019.)  I like the snow also. I really delight in seeing the mountains when we go to grocery and such.   It has all been a treat for me! 
And getting to open windows and have fresh air has been especially delightful.  (I never opened windows in Lubbock, Texas, for it is hot there and the wind blows a lot there, and usually dust blows with the wind!) 
 
We had the air conditioner on at this house in Colorado for about l hour total during the past 3 years that I have been here. We just don't need AC here although we do have it at this house.Everything about this life suits me well and I am happier at this time more than I've ever been at any point in my life. 
Most old people want to return to some previous time of their life. I'm in the best part of my life like Job was:
 
Job 42:12   So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: It's not that I tried to make these things happen, God just worked it out as I trusted HIM and tried to do what I thought to be right in HIS sight.

Mistakes? or sins?

On August 5, 1975, I was reading a book about sin when God spoke to me and said:
 
"Joan ... you know all these mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."
 
"Sins?" I gasped!  I thought they were mistakes.
 
With that word, God revealed HIS truth to me and caused me to be born again, giving me HIS Holy Spirit to live in me and teach me and guide me into all truth!

In 2021, the New York Times revealed an email sent in previous years by an NFL coach where he showed his "hatred" against a black person by saying, "His lips are as thick as Michelin tires."
 
This coach was forced to resign as NFL football coach.  
 
He said he was sorry to have hurt anyone with this statement.  He said he was sorry he sent the email.  "It was a mistake."  
 
He did not realize that hatred is "a sin" and that he revealed hatred against this other person when he said this word. Hatred was in his heart. That which comes out of our mouth reveals that which is in our heart. (Mt. 12)
 
Many people of this world think they have made a mistake when actually what they did is a sin.
 
Galatians 5

When the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, we are born again, given a new heart and a new Spirit by God.  Recreated into a new creature!

What it is like in heaven, according to the Bible

God will give us new bodies before we are taken into heaven:

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(Blink:  That is how fast we will be changed into our new spiritual bodies.)53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Glorifying God by following God and by sharing what God has told us

But we, who are of God, share that which God has done for us, thereby giving glory to God and even suffering shame for the sake of God as Jesus did.

My kingdom is not of this world

When we understand this, it is much easier to live in peace.
John 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
 
This world will be destroyed by God at the end.
 
2 Peter 3
 
10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

God creates a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 
The apostle John described that new heaven and new earth in the following scripture:
 
Revelation 21
 
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God HIMSELF shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

When we are taken into heaven, we will be changed out of these current fleshly bodies into new spiritual bodies.
 
Paul explains:

Uvalde Series: Introduction ... That which the Holy Spirit said to me about those who die in Christ.

The Holy Spirit said:
 
" The body without the spirit is dead ..."  This is a scripture:  James 2:26
 
This shows us that when a person dies, the spirit leaves that body at the moment of death!
 
Where does the spirit of the person who believes in Jesus go?  
 
We know from the Bible death is described as "falling asleep". (John 11 & I Thessalonians 4:14)
 
And we know from I Thessalonians 4:14 that spirit of the person who is of God and died is asleep in Jesus.
 
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.
 
This causes me to believe that at the time of death, the spirit (soul) of the person leaves the body and falls asleep in Jesus when they belong to Him.
 
When Jesus returns to earth "with a shout" that spirit that has been sleeping in Jesus awakens and is resurrected and taken to the new heaven and new earth which has been created by God for HIS people!

This is a description from the Bible of that new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 
Revelation 21

Death is like falling asleep.  When we awake we don't know how all that time could have passed while we slept.
 
This is the way the Bible describes death:  Falling asleep in Jesus.  "They who sleep in Jesus."
 
Those family and friends who survive are the ones who need help, and if they can believe in that which God says in the Bible concerning death (falling asleep), they obtain from God the true help in the time of sorrow.

Jesus' friend Lazarus dies and Jesus goes to raise Lazarus from the dead:
 
(Notice how Jesus says Lazarus is sleeping.)
 
John 11  (Jesus says to HIS disciples.)
 
11 Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.12 Then said HIS disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that HE had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

When a person dies, he falls asleep.  There is no more pain for him.  There is no more sorrow for him. There is no more trouble for him.  For he is as one who sleeps!
 
And when he sleeps in Jesus, he will awaken to everlasting life through Jesus.
 
So the apostle Paul tells us not to sorrow as the pagans sorrow for we have the hope of the resurrection through Jesus.
 
Paul says:
 
I Thessalonians 4
 
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep.16 For the Lord HIMSELF shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

In the resurrection, Jesus takes us to the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness:
 
Revelation 21  (The apostle John tells us about the new heaven)
 
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

At the end of this world, the apostle Peter tells us what happens and also tells us how we should live on this earth until that time.
 
2 Peter 3
 
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

#2. (Uvalde Series) When death or tragedy occurs, our weapons are not carnal as the weapons of this world but our weapons are mighty through God

"God ... help me!"  we cry out!
For only through God can we receive lasting help and comfort through Jesus.

It is critical for each of us to remember that dead child is sleeping in Christ.  And that child has everything needed and no more pain or sorrow or trouble!
 
We are the ones who need help!  And our help comes from God as we cry out to God.
 
Each time bad memories come to our minds concerning what has happened, we must stop and cry out to God.  "God ... help me!"
 
And when we cry out to God for help, God will help us!
 
God's promises:  
 
Joshua 1:8 & Hebrews 13:5
 
I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
 
Each time you begin to feel heavy, cry out to God for help.  Where ever you are, call on God.  God is everywhere:  HE is in you and with you at all times in all places when you belong to HIM and ask HIM for help as a little child does.  God is our Father.
 
And keep in your mind at all times that your child is sleeping in Christ!  When Christ returns to gather HIS Church, the dead in Christ will be awakened by the voice of Jesus.
 
Each of us will be given new heavenly bodies!  And we will be taken to the new heaven and new earth which is created by God for HIS children.  
 
The devil wants us to grieve and sorrow.  But because we know the truth of the resurrection, we rejoice in the provision of God through Jesus.  
 
Rejoice in the fact that the child has total comfort as that child sleeps in Jesus.  This is the victory!  See the child as that child is:  sleeping in Christ.
 
I Thessalonians 4

When Jesus returns with a shout, the dead in Christ will awaken!  
 
16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
 
Keep this truth in your mind at all times:  Your child is sleeping in Christ!   Jesus will awaken your child when Jesus returns to gather HIS church!
 
This truth frees you!

And each time you have any trouble or concern, pray directly to God wherever you are!
 
Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
 
Stop and talk to God.  Pour out your heart to God.  Let your requests be made known to God as you talk directly with God!
 
And when you do that, the following will happen:
 
7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (the Word).

#3. (Uvalde Series) God keeps us in perfect peace when our mind is stayed on that which we have heard from HIM.

Jesus was crucified and HIS body was wrapped in clean linen and HE was placed in a tomb with a large rock sealing the entrance to the tomb.
 
Several women came to the tomb to bring good smelling spices to place on the dead body of Jesus.
 
Here is what happened:
 
Luke 24
 
1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men (angels)  stood by them in shining garments:5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they (the men) said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?6  HE is not here, but is risen:

The truth of God's word calms us and directs our way as we go through the problems of this present world. 
 
As long as we make our mind be fixed on God's words and pray to God, HE keeps us in perfect peace even in tragedies.
 
Isaiah 26:3-4
 
THOU wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on THEE: because he trusteth in THEE.Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Philippians 4:6-7

The pagans sorrow because they have no hope in death.  We, as Christians, have hope of the resurrection from the dead through Jesus Christ.  So we do not act as do the pagans.
 
The apostle Paul says:
