Building your house on the word from God

The righteousness which is of God by faith (Philippians 3:9)

We believe it is God speaking to us by HIS Spirit, therefore we speak by faith.
 
God, by the Holy Spirit, reminds us of all that Jesus has said.  We speak that word when we are with other people.  When a scripture comes to our mind, we know it is God who has brought that scripture to our mind so we share that scripture when we are with other people.  When a concept comes to mind, we believe God brought that concept to mind, so we share that.  We do not speak of our own cleverness as the world does to impress people.  We do the work of God by sharing that which is brought to our mind by the Spirit of God.
 
Jesus said:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (Jn. 14:26)
 
When we are reminded of a scripture, we know it is the Holy Spirit who has brought that scripture to our mind.  We share that!
 
We do not try to speak.  We simply speak if God reminds us of a scripture or a concept.

Promise of God: No weapon formed against us will prosper

Are we servants of the Lord, children of God, born again by the Spirit of God?
If so this promise of God belongs to us.
 
Our "righteousness" is of God because it is God who authors our way and gives us our assignments.
 
We continue in God's way, in the way God has shown us to go.

💥  As a new Christian in 1975, I owned a small business in Dallas, Texas.  A man filed a lawsuit against me and against several other dealers of American Indian Arts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
 
At first, it was so silly I couldn't even take it seriously.  I just tossed the legal papers onto a shelf in my office.
 
After about a week, I realized if I ignored this matter the man could gain judgment against me and I could lose all the merchandise which I had accumulated in my shop.
 
So I hired an attorney. 
 
Week-after-week my lawyer would send me a bill.  At the rate this was going, I would be financially eaten up in a matter of months.
 
One day I was reading the Bible and saw this scripture:  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the LORD.
 
I began to reason what this was saying to me:
 
* No weapon that is formed against me would prosper.  This lawsuit was definitely a "weapon" formed against me.  According to that which is written in the Holy Bible, it can not prosper!  I am now a servant of the Lord therefore this is my "heritage".
 
"So why am I paying these attorneys to represent me when God says this cannot proper?"
 
I would dismiss my lawyer and plan to go to court without human legal counsel.

I was such a new Christian, I decided I would go to my pastor and tell him my plan.  I made an appointment to meet with pastor and enroute to the meeting I prayed for God to give pastor wisdom.
 
After I presented my plan, pastor said, "Joan ... I perceive that you have faith to do this this way."

I called my lawyer immediately.  When I told Gordon my plan to go to court without human legal counsel based on the scripture in Isaiah 54:17,  Gordon was horrified and said, "Joan, you can't do this!  You don't realize how evil these courts are today.  We are willing to work with you.  It will only take about $10,000 more to try your case."
 
When I heard that I shouted, "$10,000 more ... Gordon, STOP. Don't do anything more."
 
(I probably had a total of $2,000 cash at that time and it was for the purpose of buying Indian jewelry to sell in my shop.)
 
I dismissed my lawyer and planned to go to court without any human legal counsel.
 
Also I told Gordon that so far as I knew, the Bible was not just a book about God but was the Word of God to Christians, not just an history book.
 
If the Bible was only an history book about God, then I wanted no more to do with the Bible.
 
This was a good time to try the situation about the Bible and see if these promises of God in the Bible were for us today or if they were only stories pertaining to past events.

After about 2 weeks, Gordon came back to my shop.  He said they had discussed my case at the law firm and they were willing to try my case without any further financial charge to me.
 
What is going on here?  They said it would take about $10,000 more to try my case and now it was going to be "free"?
 
(I told Gordon I would have to get back with him on this.  I didn't hear Gordon mention God in the "free" legal service.)
 
I began praying, asking God what HE wanted me to do.
 
Immediately I was reminded of the following scripture.
 
Genesis 14
 
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
(I knew God was telling me to turn down the "free" legal service, which I did.)

The court trial was scheduled to take place in 6 weeks.  As I waited, God would remind me of various scriptures to strengthen me while I waited.  There were about 14 scriptures given me during that time.  I recorded these scriptures on a cassette tape and played this tape each night when I went to bed.  I had recorded these scriptures on both sides of the tape so when I would awaken in the night I could turn that tape over and play it again.
 
Six days before the trial was scheduled, I received a phone call from the lawyer of the man who filed the law suit against me and the other Indian Arts dealers.
 
This lawyer said,  "I'm calling you because you don't have a lawyer.  I want to tell you that our client dropped all charges."
 
I asked, "Did he drop all charges against everyone?"
 
The lawyer said, "He cut everyone loose."  Then he said, "We tried all along to get him not to charge you for he had no grounds to charge you.  But he wouldn't listen to us.  He was like a mad man."
 
It was over!

A few days later, Gordon came to my shop.  He said, "At the law firm, we have spoken of your case many time and I want you to know that we believe what you said happened, happened."
 
(No weapon formed against me would prosper because I am a servant of the Lord and this is a promise from God in the Bible.)

Divorce and remarriage: What the Bible says

6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.10 And in the house His disciples asked Him again of the same matter.11 And He saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Matthew 5:32  Jesus says:
 
Whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
* If a divorced woman remarries, she will commit adultery but her husband who divorced the faithful wife will be the cause of her adultery.
 
* If a man marries a divorced woman he commits adultery.
 
Therefore the only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife is if the wife commits fornication with another man while she is married to her husband.

The apostle Paul says the following is a commandment of the Lord:
 
I Corinthians 7:10-11  And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
 
39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

Homosexuals and Lesbians: What the Bible says

We know what God thinks by that which is written in the Holy Bible.
 
Concerning homosexuals and lesbians God says:
 
Romans 1
 
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Born homosexuals?
 
Mark 10   Jesus says:

God created each of us as male or female but later turned homosexuals and lesbians over to vile affections.
 
This is what the Bible says about homosexuals and lesbians.
 
And Paul tells us the "effeminate" (homosexual) will not inherit the kingdom of God.
 
I Corinthians 6
 
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
But some will repent and be cleansed of their sins and turn from their sins.
 
To the woman taken in adultery, Jesus said:  "Go ... and sin no more."  (John 8)
 
All who continue in sin will be destroyed when Jesus returns.

Genesis 19:7   God sent 2 angels to destroy Sodom and to remove Lot and his family from the destruction.  Homosexuals came from every quarter of the city to have sex with those 2 angels who came from God to destroy Sodom.
 
Lot said to the men of Sodom:  "Do not so wickedly."
 
Even Lot knew homosexuals were doing "wicked" acts.

Faith in God

Faith is one of my favorite subjects and one of the most wonderful, and simple. 
 
Words, often instructions, which are given to us by God, are usually brought directly to our minds by HIS Holy Spirit.
 
The first time this happened to me was in approximately 1975.  I owned a small business in Dallas, Texas.  A woman filed a lawsuit against me.  I heard an instruction which I believed to be from God.  These words were brought to my mind by what I believed to be God, by HIS Holy Spirit:  "Don't testify."  
 
As I obeyed this instruction, many unexpected things happened!

Our examples are Noah and Abraham.  And with both, it is the same, God speaks and they obeyed!
 
Until God speaks, we can't have faith in God.  
 
For faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God!  Romans 10:17

Concerning Noah:
 
Hebrews 11:7   By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
 
Noah condemned the world, because Noah believed God and the world did not believe God.
 
And because Noah believed God, Noah built an ark.  Noah heard what to do when God spoke to him and Noah did that thing.
 
Genesis 6
 
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved HIM at HIS heart.7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth ME that I have made them.8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
 
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted HIS way upon the earth.13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before ME; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood;
God told Noah how to build the ark and exactly what to do, and Noah obeyed what God said to him.
 
And that is faith in God.  We hear when God speaks and we obey God because we believe what God has said.

James 2
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
 
26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Our flesh will rise up and try to take over, given the opportunity

Recently, I was really upset when a TV newsman said the 1921 Tulsa Massacre was the worst racial incident in the history of the United States.
 
I said, "What about the Civil War?"  (and also the horrible years of reconstruction following the Civil War?)
 
The statement made by the TV newsman caused me to "puff up" and my flesh took on a type of scoffing attitude that was not good.
 
I was reminded of this scripture:
 
Matthew 5:30   And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
 
I have found TV evening news to provoke me in a bad way so when I understood that, I deleted the daily recordings from my television DVR.
 
I have felt myself grow arrogant over some of the reports, feeling "How can you say that?"  As a result I even take on "scoffing", which is an evil fruit of the flesh.
 
If I want to keep up with those things going on in the world, I can check the written headlines on CNN International on my Kindle tablet.  I find writings do not usually provoke me to evil.
 
Also I find sometimes seeing what people are doing today is depressing and could discourage me if I allow it to do so.
 
Jesus says:  Mt. 24:12-13   And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
 
When we find ourselves in this position, we usually need to eliminate that activity from our lives.
 
Romans 13:12-14  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
 
The apostle Paul told us:  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: (Rom. 7:18)
 
So if your right hand offends you, cut it off.  Just stop doing that thing that provokes to evil.
 
The flesh never improves and it is with us as long as we live on this earth.
 
We control our flesh by walking in the Spirit, by doing that brought to our attention by the Spirit.  We also control our flesh by cutting off those things (or people) who provoke our flesh to do evil.
 
But we must not continue allowing the flesh to rise up for to do so is a type of death to us, keeping us from doing that assignment given to us by God.
 
In the end times iniquity will abound and we certainly don't need to give entrance to things that we find detrimental to our peace and unity.
 
We live in a time where we see much delusion and iniquity.
 
As we wait for the return of Jesus, our goal should be the following as expressed by the apostle Peter.
 
II Peter 3:13-14  Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 
(This present earth will never be made righteousness but will grow worse and worse to the end.)14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.
 
Paul says:
 
II Tim. 3:13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
 
We keep ourselves in joy and peace of God as we go forward, focusing on HIS truth as given us by the Holy Spirit.  We can't allow ourselves to focus on that which people are doing but rather we keep ourselves focused on that which God tells us and on the good which God has done for us and the many examples in the Bible which show overcoming through believing that which God says.
 
Therefore put on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God.

The violence we are seeing today in this world

The Bible shows us the devil will become even more fierce as we grow closer to the end of this world.
 
Revelation 12:12  ... Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
 
Today we are witnessing shooting that are irrational, men just going into businesses and killing people they do not know.
 
This is an example of the fierce wrath devils would promote as we grow closer to the end and the return of Jesus.

Seeking our wisdom from God. HE knows the future!

The only thing that matters is: ”What has God said to you?”

All the things written in the Old Testament are examples to us.
 
Paul says:
 
I Corinthians 10
 
5  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
 
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The children of Israel had a great victory at Jericho.  Then they were defeated at Ai because Achen trespassed against God at Jericho and God departed and left them alone in the battle at Ai.
 
When they sought God and learned of Achen's trespass, they did as God instructed and then God was with them again.
 
Romans 8:31  If God be for us, who can be against us?
 
Now God is going to deliver Ai to the armies of Israel.
 
Here is God's plan as HE gave it to Joshua before the battle.
 
Joshua 8
 
1 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:2 And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it.
The only thing that matters is:  "Follow the plan God gives you."

Repetition of the Word of God

That which the Holy Bible says: The anchor for that which is from God

Some churches say it is their tradition when questioned about various topics such as divorce, remarriage, homosexuals and lesbians.  They give no scriptural basis for their belief, only saying it is a tradition of their church group.
 
Tradition will never stand but the word of God will never pass away.
 
Jesus says:  
 
Matthew 24:35   Heaven and earth shall pass away, but MY words shall not pass away.
 
2 Timothy 3:16-17   All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
 
We must build our thinking on the scriptures in the Holy Bible.

In the Old Testament, men who have sex with men are called "Sodomites."
 
God said:
 
Genesis 13:13   But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
 
God sent 2 angels to destroy Sodom.

From every quarter of the city of Sodom homosexual men came to have sexual intercourse with the two men who had come to Lot's house.5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  
(know them:  have sexual intercourse with them)6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
(Lot knew homosexual acts were wicked.) 
 
2 Peter 2:7-9  And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds; The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
 
Genesis 19
8 (Lot says) Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.10 But the men (the 2 angels) put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.11 And they (the angels) smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
(angels of God have great powers)12 And the men (the angels) said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
 
When we are asked what we think about homosexuals and lesbians, we must share the exact scripture from the New Testament and Old Testament Bible rather than give an opinion.
 
The Bible shows what God has to say and that will not change.
 
The Bible is the anchor for our belief.

God provides a place for me to live in my old age. God will not fail us nor forsake us.

In June 2018, Pam Padgett (our church group) decided to add a bedroom and full bath to the downstairs area of her house in Colorado Springs.  She had a "library" room which opened up into her fireplace area.  She wanted to move her sound system to the fireplace area and close up that opening and use the other room for a downstairs bedroom.  She asked me to help with the design for the sound system since I've had a lot of experiences with sound systems and we have the same speakers.
 
God gave me an idea whereby the large front speakers could be recessed into the new wall which would be built in the fireplace area.  Since that is a small room, it was very important to get those speakers back into the wall and away from the walk space.
 
Pam had been helping her elderly neighbor, Jim, and she saw how hard it was for Jim to have all his bedrooms upstairs at his house.
 
When Pam started working on building the downstairs bedroom and making the bath into a full bath, she was a little fearful thinking, "I wonder what is going to happen in the future to me to make me need this downstairs bedroom/bath?"
 
But she was sure God was leading her so she continue to pursue this project which was completed in January 2019.

I have found that sometimes God leads me by planting an idea or desire in my heart.
 
I had lived alone in my house in Texas for a number of years. I began to have the idea that a change was coming to my life and I would no longer be able to live alone.  This did not trouble me at all.  In fact I began to have a desire to live in a house with another church person, without even knowing who that person would be.
 
On December 6, 2019, I fell at my house in Texas. As they took me to the hospital by ambulance.  As they rolled me past the front door of my house, I heard this from the Holy Spirit of God.  "You'll never see this house again."
 
I was not troubled at all by this information.  I was sure God had a plan for me.

As I awaited surgery at hospital, a nurse came into my room.  She had some papers for me to sign which would put some other person in charge of making decisions for me if I was unable to do so.
 
Instantly I said, "Pam Padgett is in charge of me."
 
Another member of our church group was standing there when I said this and heard me.  She was shocked and replied, "How can Pam be in charge?  She doesn't even live here."  (Pam lived 450 miles away in Colorado Springs.)
 
I replied:  "I don't know how she can be but she is."
 
(I think God must have put that in my heart and it was HIS plan.  I'd never thought of Pam being in charge should I not be able to make decisions.  I just spoke that she was in charge.)
 
Pam ended up flying to Lubbock, Texas, 3 or 4 times from Denver. She helped me get to one of the appointments with surgeon.  She helped me to move from one rehabilitation hospital to another.  She even selected the second hospital and was with me when they moved me. She kept in touch by phone with the supervisors at the hospitals.  When I put my house up for sale, Pam met with my contractor to prepare the property and to put my things that I wanted to keep in storage.  She worked out an estate sale to get rid of large pieces of furniture that I did not want to keep.  She took photos of each room and brought these for me to select items to keep.
 
I had watched Pam make decisions for many years before this accident.  When there was a problem, she talked with God.  After she felt God had showed her what to do she did what she heard and resolved the problem and then she might tell me of that problem after God had led her. Usually she did not tell me of the problem until she had settled it with God.  This was exactly the kind of person I could work with.
 
I was in hospitals for 2 1/2 months.  Somehow during that time it was decided that I would move to Colorado Springs and live in Pam's house where she had just converted one of her downstairs rooms into a bedroom.  Also she had added a shower to the downstairs bath and it was ready for use by the time I was released from the hospital on February 24, 2019.
 
Pam flew to Lubbock to assist me in the trip to Colorado which we made by plane.  
 
Earlier, in January, Pam had flown to Lubbock to get my old car and my cat and take them to Colorado.
 
When we arrived at Pam's house, and I got into the bedroom, my cat saw me and she looked as if to say, "Is it really you?"  and cat ran to me and jumped up on my bed and stayed very close to me.  (I hadn't seen her since I fell on December 6, 2018.)
 
I've been at Pam's house for the past 3 years.  It has been great being here in the house with another Christian who hears from God as I do.  It has turned out to be the very best situation I've ever been in for my entire life!  And God put it all together and made it work for both of us to benefit of both of us.
 
Psalm 24:17   Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and HE shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Stand fast in the Lord ... in the Word

Jesus is the Lord.  Jesus is the Word.
 
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
 
So when Paul says, "Stand fast in the Lord," (Phil. 4:1), Paul is telling us to stand fast in The Word who is our Lord, Jesus.
 
Each time I see, "The Lord", in the Bible, I think of "The Word."
 
John 14:6  Jesus says:  I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
 
Jesus is saying:  "The Word is the way to go ... The Word is the truth ... The Word is the life ... no man cometh unto the Father but by The Word."

David is saying:
 
The Word is my shepherd ... I follow The Word, therefore I shall not want.
 
The Word makes me to lie down in green pastures:  The Word leads me beside the still waters.
 
The Word restores my soul.  
 
The Word leads me in the paths of righteousness.

Jesus says: ”Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Mt. 24:4)

In the end times, deception will be rampant.  They will come saying, "Jesus is Lord", and they will deceive many by saying Jesus is Christ.  But they are not born again and they do not have the Spirit of God in them and they try to follow God without having HIS Spirit.  
 
Many church people think they are Christians because they attend church but they are not born again.  They just joined a church group or went forward and were baptized in water without being illuminated by God.
 
Matthew 24
 
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and HIS disciples came to HIM for to shew HIM the buildings of the temple.2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.3 And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

The Bible says it is not wise to measure yourself by another person and covetousness is caused by doing this

My cleaning lady once said to me, "Don't you ever think you have to try to keep up with the Jones?"
 
I was surprised in this question.  I thought about it and answered, "No."
 
Later I was reading Bible and saw a passage of scripture which said to do this leads to covetousness.
 
To compare yourself to another is also a work of the flesh:  emulation  (Gal. 5:20)
 
emulate:  to try to out do another person, to match or surpass another person in achievement

Instead we should turn to God and ask HIM what HE wants us to do, not trying to out do another person, but pleasing God in all things.  Helping people as needed instead of beating people.   For Paul says that they that do "such things" shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  (I Cor. 6:9-10 & Gal. 5:19-21)
 
And to live the way of our flesh will trouble us unnecessarily.

We are born in the flesh of man, the natural man.
 
I Corinthians 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
 
So God sent HIS Son, the Word, Jesus to live on this earth and die for our sins.  HIS blood was sacrificed for us that we might come to God through belief in HIM.
 
God gave us HIS Spirit so we could know the will of God and God showed us what we had been doing in the flesh was sin and caused us to go opposite to the will of our flesh and to overcome by going in the way of God by the Spirit.
 
Galatians 5
 
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
 
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(Follow after the things the Spirit brings to our mind which produce the fruits of the Spirit.  For example:  Instead of hating those who offend us as our flesh wants to do, we learn to love and forgive them which brings forth the fruits of the Spirit.)26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
 
Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
 
So we deliberately choose to love rather than to hate as this world does.  We resist the flesh by choosing to go in the way of the Holy Spirit of God.  The Spirit of God will bring to our mind the way of God and we choose that way keeping our own flesh crucified with Christ by going in the way shown us by the Spirit.

The right to sin

No wonder when Jesus comes all the tribes of the earth will "mourn".
 
Matthew 24:30  Jesus says:  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
 
For they claimed their right to live as they please on this present earth.  And they claim PRIDE in their various sins without restraint.
 
And nothing can touch them, or so they think.

No wonder every tribe of the earth will mourn when they see Jesus coming through the clouds at the end of this present world:
 
Matthew 24:30   And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
 
So take PRIDE in those sins, until you see Jesus coming through the air ... and then begin to MOURN!

When they speak the right thing by the wrong spirit, we, the elect of God are grieved

In all things, we must speak by the right Spirit, by that Holy Spirit of God.
 
Here is a very interesting example:
 
Acts 16:16-18  And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
 
Notice that everything this girl said was correct.
 
But she said this by the wrong spirit.
 
Paul would have none of this wrong spirit.

I have seen this type of thing.  I have received emails from religious people who speak "correct things" but by the wrong spirit and I find their words grieve me.
 
I was in Europe in 1980 with a church friend.  She and her husband had many years experience ministering in Europe.  She said to me, "You must be very sensitive to the spirit by which they are speaking."  
 
I had only a few years of experience as a Christian and I really didn't understand what she was saying to me but I knew she was right.
 
Today I often am shown there is a wrong spirit speaking when people come to me saying they are Christians.
 
In these end times, I think it is important for us to recognize that spirit by which people write and speak.
 
Lately I have often prayed that I not be deceived nor deluded by them.
 
For there will be much delusion coming and many will be deceived by those who say Jesus is Lord.
 
Jesus warned us:
 
Mt. 24:3-5   And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.5 For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

God helps us continually by the Holy Spirit of Jesus

God knows the future and HE leads us through this current "wilderness" by bringing to our mind ideas showing us what to do.
 
Or sometimes God will plant in our heart the truth of the situation and by that truth we know what to do.
 
Many things are coming upon this world because of the sins of the world and because of the sins of the apostate church groups who have fallen away from specific scriptures.
 
But in all troubles, God helps the elect of God, those who are born again and given the Holy Spirit.
 
For the Holy Spirit is used by God in guiding the New Testament church. Each person who belongs to God has the Holy Spirit.
 
The apostle Paul tells us this:
 
I Cor. 3:16   Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
 
And Jesus tells us what the Holy Spirit does for each of us.
 
John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

We are a small light in the total darkness of this present world and in the darkness of the apostate churches

In the midst of the great darkness of this world and the apostate churches, who change doctrines written in the New Testament Bible and approve people in their various sins, we hold fast to scripture and speak scripture and live our lives by various scriptures. 
 
We are a small light to the people of this present world.  And we show the right path of God.
 
I John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Though the darkness that surrounds man all over this world is very great today as we draw nearer to the return of Jesus and the end of this present heaven and earth, there is a small light everywhere and that light is The Word of God, The Holy Bible, The scriptures which we speak and live!

From heaven today, Jesus appoints ministers for HIS church (Eph. 4)

When Jesus walked on this earth HE called 12 men to be HIS apostles.
 
But after the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus called from heaven HIS ministers, just as Jesus called the apostle Paul from heaven.
 
At the time Jesus called Paul to be a minister, Paul was persecuting the church. 
 
Acts 9:1-6  And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt THOU have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
This scripture shows us Jesus calling Paul (by name) and appointing him from heaven to be a minister after Jesus was crucified and raised into heaven.
 
Jesus does this same thing today as HE sets HIS ministers into today's church.  From heaven, Jesus speaks to HIS chosen ministers, appointing them into the ministry of the church and teaching them to do the work of the ministry to which HE has called them.
 
Ephesians 4:8  Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
 
11-12  And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
 
I Cor. 12:27-28  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.  And God hath set some in the church (as ministers), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
 
Jesus, speaking from heaven, calls HIS ministers today.
 
But many ministers today do not have that call of Jesus on their lives.  They put themselves into the ministry by going to Bible college or seminaries without being called by Jesus to do so.  And they are the antichrists in today's churches.

This is the end time apostasy.
 
2 Peter 2
 
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
(These false ministers explain away various scriptures and approve sins in the congregation by departing from scriptures such as Mt. 5:32 where Jesus said the man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Many false ministers in today's church covet greatness for themselves and try to draw large numbers of people to their church for this makes them look "great" and also brings more money into the church.
This is the end time apostasy in the church where they fall away from specific scriptures and set up other doctrines contrary to the New Testament Bible Doctrines.
 
II Thessalonians 2
 
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
In 1982, God said to me:  "This falling away are not people leaving the church group but are church groups leaving various scriptures."
 
NASB calls this the apostasy of the end times that had to happen in the churches before Jesus returns.
 
II Thessalonians 2:3-4  (NASB)
 
3 No one is to deceive you in any way! For it (the return of Jesus) will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

2 Cor. 5:9-11   Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of HIM.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.   Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;
 
Hebrews 6:10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward HIS name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Each of us "serve" (minister) in the way God has shown us.
 
Pam Padgett has been given by God the spiritual gift of "helps".
 
I Cor. 12:28  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
 
I have been given a spiritual gift of "exhortation".
 
Romans 12:8  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
 
We work in that spiritual gift or office to which we are placed by God, but we share equally in the body of Christ and will receive for that which we do in our assignment!

Jesus tells us what it will be like before HE returns to gather the elect of God

Luke 21
 
7  And they asked HIM, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
 
Luke 17
 
28  Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

What was it like in Sodom in the time Lot lived there?
 
The sins of Sodom reached into heaven and God sent 2 angels to Sodom to destroy Sodom but first these angels had to remove Lot for he was a righteous man.
 
2 Peter 2:6-9   And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

A rise in acceptance of homosexual sins will happen as a sign before Jesus returns to gather the elect to HIMSELF and God destroys this present world.
 
Lot knew homosexual acts were "wicked" and he states this in the following scripture.
 
Homosexuals lived in every "quarter" of the city of Sodom when Lot lived there.  Lot knew these acts were wicked and he was vexed because of them.
 
Two men, who were really angels of God, came to Sodom on assignment from God, to destroy Sodom after they delivered Lot from the destruction that was to come.  
 
Lot saw these two angels but he saw them as 2 men.  
 
(Angels do not have wings.  Angels look like normal men.)
 
Knowing the wickedness of the city of Sodom, Lot offered these men the protection of his own house.
 
Genesis 19
 
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  (have sex with them)6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.10 But the men (the angels) put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
(angels of God have great powers)12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

The open approval by the world and the apostate churches concerning homosexual acts is one sign of the coming of Jesus to gather HIS elect and also the pending Great Tribulation and the destruction God will bring upon this world.
 
These churches depart from the following scriptures concerning homosexuals and lesbians:
 
Romans 1
 
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Given the opportunity, speak the truth of God

When the door opens in the conversation, just speak the truth by the Holy Spirit of God, by that which the Holy Spirit brings to your mind at that time.
 
2 Tim. 4:2-4  (Paul instructs Timothy)  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
 
When I am with a person and the Holy Spirit reminds me of a scripture or concept, that is what I try to speak.   
 
The main thing is be faithful to God to speak what HE brings to you by HIS Spirit for then God will do the works that HE wants done.
 
But I am greatly warned about trying to plan ahead that which I will speak for if I do that, it might be my own work.  
 
God will guide us in that which we are to speak at the moment we are with another person.  
 
Let God be in charge.  
 
If God wants us to speak, HE will bring to our mind that which we are to say.  And we simply share "that".
 
A woman in our little church group had made out a list of things she wanted to say to her adult aged son.
 
When I found out what she was doing I urged her to tear up her list and just speak those things brought to her mind by the Holy Spirit of God when she was with her son.
 
Luke 21:14-15  Jesus says:  Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:  For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
 
She did tear up her list and spoke what God brought to her mind while she was with her son, and she told me later not one thing on her list was called to her mind.
 
Learn to trust God to do HIS work through you.
 
When we learn to trust God, HE will bring to our mind that which HE wants us to say.  We don't have to try to do anything!  Just speak as the Holy Spirit leads you.
 
John 14:26  Jesus says: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
 
Also it is critical for us to settle all offenses with God, otherwise we might speak wrongly, trying to set someone straight.  We must keep ourselves at peace, without spot and blameless through praying when we are offended, and then speak freely that which God brings to our mind.
 
Psalm 51
 
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.11 Cast me not away from THY presence; and take not THY holy spirit from me.12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Answer to prayer

Jesus said:  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.  (Mt. 10:36)
 
So it is not unusual when you speak the Word from God to have a relative or the church people fight against that Word.
 
In 1977, my cousin, Church of Christ member, once said to me, "Well ... I believe you are a Christian ... I just don't see how you can be one."
 
She did not understand being born again.
 
For the next 40-years, she fought me and tried to get me to quit the work I believe God gave me to do.
 
In 2019, she waged her last battle against me.  It was by exchange of letters for by this time she had gone totally deaf and could not hear by phone and the only communication I could have with her was by letter.  (She didn't know how to do email so we sent US mail to each other.)  She lived in another city from me, about 500 miles away.
 
She was 97-years-old at that time.
 
My prayer was that God would reveal to her before she died that I was of HIM and I was just trying to do that which HE told me to do.
 
(Then she could be saved and go to the new heaven, new Jerusalem.  But if she died fighting against me, that would be same as fighting against God.)
 
On May 31, 2021, God gave me a dream showing me this cousin now knows I was doing HIS work and we were at peace with one another.
 
I've always believed God could save a person at the time of that person's last breath on this earth.
 
Just speak the truth and hold fast to the truth when speaking to another person.  And quit worrying and have faith in God.
 
If we pray according to the will of God, our prayer will be answered.
 
I John 5:14-15   And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us:  And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.

Many put themselves into ministries without being called by Jesus for the work of the ministry

When Jesus calls us to a ministry work on this earth, HE appoints us from heaven as Jesus appointed and called the apostle Paul from heaven.  
 
Jesus will do something to show that person he is to be a minister of Jesus Christ when Jesus calls him to be a minister.
 
Ephesians 4:8;11-12
 
8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.11-15 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into HIM in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (The Word)
 
But many put themselves into ministries without having the Spirit of God and without having the call of Jesus for the ministry.
 
They just enroll in seminaries or Bible colleges.
 
Jude
 
17-19  But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;  How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
 
Often when I share things of God with such, they have no spark of understanding.  Understanding is from God.  When I see this, I usually depart from that person knowing that God is not giving that individual understanding.  
 
1 Cor. 2:14   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
 
The apostle Paul spoke of these false ministers who were not of Jesus and actually were ministers of Satan.
 
2 Cor. 11:13-15  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
 
They see the Bible with natural eyes and often set up many false doctrines from the scriptures.  And by doing such, they deny the Lord Jesus though they say "Jesus is Lord."
 
For if you deny scriptures, you deny Jesus who is "The Word".
