The child of the promise and the elect of God

The linage from Abraham to Moses is very interesting to those who are interested in the elect of God.
 
For there is an elect of God which will be taken by Jesus into heaven when Jesus returns to gather the elect of God from off this earth.
 
Matthew 24:31    And HE (Jesus) shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Abraham was chosen by God to be the father of many nations.  
 
When the apostles of the early church saw God give the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles, they could trace the promise of the Gentiles back to Abraham, for God said Abraham would be the father of "many nations."
 
Acts 13:48  And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
 
Acts 26:20   and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
 
Galatians 3:14   That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
 
I Corinthians 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
 
Isaiah 62:2  And the Gentiles shall see THY righteousness,
 
Isaiah 49:6  And HE said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be MY servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be MY salvation unto the end of the earth.
 
Abraham:  "A father of many nations"  (including the Gentiles)

Genesis 12
 
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him;

Genesis 15
 
1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?3 And Abram said, Behold, to me THOU hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.  (Eliezer at this point in time)4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.5 And HE (God) brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and HE (God) said unto him, So shall thy seed be.6 And he (Abram) believed in the LORD; and HE (God) counted it to him for righteousness.

Genesis 17
 
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before ME, and be thou perfect.2 And I will make MY covenant between ME and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,4 As for ME, behold, MY covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.7 And I will establish MY covenant between ME and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep MY covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

Genesis 17
 
15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish MY covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
The child of the promise of God is named by God as Isaac.
 
So the linage of the elect of God, the children of God, will go through the promised son, Isaac.

Isaac had 2 sons by Rebecca:  Jacob (the younger) and Esau (the elder).
 
Romans 9
 
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of HIM that calleth;)12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Genesis 26  God speaks to Isaac
 
1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.2 And the LORD appeared unto him (to Isaac), and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;5 Because that Abraham obeyed MY voice, and kept MY charge, MY commandments, MY statutes, and MY laws.
(If we want to be blessed by God, then we obey God's voice and keep the commandments, the statutes, and the laws of God as set forth in the New Testament Bible.)6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
 
Genesis 26
 
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
 
(Sow in the land that is given to you by God.  God gave me the land of radio, blog, books, Podcast, and Twitter.  I sow in that land.  What is the land given to you by God?)13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
 
Genesis 26
 
23 And he (Isaac) went up from thence to Beersheba.24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for MY servant Abraham's sake.25 And he (Isaac) builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

Isaac had 2 sons:  Jacob (the younger) and Esau.
 
Jacob, the son of Isaac, is the elect of God, chosen by God.  
 
God named Jacob, Israel.  And through Jacob will come the 12 sons of Israel, the 12 tribes of Israel.   (Jacob will be renamed "Israel" by God.)

Esau, Jacob's brother, marries a daughter of Canaan and this woman greatly grieves Isaac and Rebecca.
 
Genesis 27:46   And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
 
So Isaac and Rebecca send their son Jacob (the elect of God)  to their own people so he can choose a wife of the daughters of their people rather than from the daughters of Canaan who grieve them.
 
Genesis 28  (God speaks to Jacob as he travels to get his wife.  We see God showing that Jacob is HIS elect because HE speaks to Jacob.)
 
10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
It is one thing for your father on earth to say, "God spoke this to me."  But when God speaks directly to you by either word or by dreams, it is another thing, for now God has chosen you and you know God because HE spoke to you.

Now we have 3 generations of the elect of God:
 
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob
 
God renames Jacob as "Israel" ... and by Jacob's 12 sons come the children of Israel, and one of those 12 sons is going to be that elect of God.
 
Genesis 35  (God renames Jacob)
 
9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and HE called his name Israel.11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.13 And God went up from him in the place where HE talked with him.
God promised Abraham the land.  God promises Isaac the land.  God promises Jacob the land.
 
And they wait having faith in God not seeing the promise but later it comes.
 
Hebrews 11
 
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for HE hath prepared for them a city.

Genesis 37
 
1 And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.2 These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
(Notice in verse 2 we read these are the generations of Jacob ... but only Joseph is named though there are 11 other sons, the 12 tribes of Israel.)
 
Now we have 4 generations of the elect of God:  Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel) , Joseph
 
Genesis 46
 
1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.3 And HE said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:4  I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5 And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:

(Joseph is the elect of God.)
 
Romans 9:6-9   Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Abraham makes arrangement for a wife for Isaac, the son of the promise

What can be more important for a parent than the mate their child marries?  
 
(Much prayer and help is needed from God in this matter if you are a parent.)
 
Isaac was the child of the promise of God.
 
Abraham knew it would be bad if Isaac married one of the daughters of Cannan.  So Abraham instructed his servant and sent his servant to bring from his people a wife for Isaac.

Genesis 24
 
1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?6 And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.7 The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; HE shall send HIS angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
(Abraham had strong grounds upon which to have faith that God would lead in this matter.)8 And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.9 And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.

10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.11 And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.12 And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:14 And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that THOU hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that THOU hast shewed kindness unto my master.
(A woman showing kindness to the servant and also to the animals would be a woman with a good and kind disposition, caring for both man and helpless beast.)

One of our church members had a twice divorced 50 year old son who wanted to find a wife and have children.  I felt I had counsel from God on this matter.  I told her:  Tell him a woman who would have sex with him before marriage would not be a suitable wife.

Genesis 24
15 And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.18 And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
(She considered both man and beast.)20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
(She went immediately to care for the 10 camels, showing a diligence and also that she was not a lazy woman.)

21 And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.22 And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;23 And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?24 And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.25 She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.26 And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.27 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of HIS mercy and HIS truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.28 And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.31 And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.32 And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.33 And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. 
(Abraham's servant acted with urgency and honor in his assigned task.)
 
And he (Laban) said, Speak on.34 And he said, I am Abraham's servant.35 And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and HE hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.36 And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.37 And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:38 But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.39 And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.40 And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send HIS angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:41 Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.42 And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now THOU do prosper my way which I go:  43 Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;  44 And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son.45 And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee. 46 And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.47 And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.48 And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.49 And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.51 Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the LORD hath spoken.52 And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.53 And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.54 And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.55 And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.56 And he (Abraham's servant) said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.57 And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.58 And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
(Rebekah saw the way God was working in this matter and she didn't hesitate to go.)

59 And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.61 And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.

62 And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.66 And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.67 And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

The apostle Paul shows us that at the time of sexual intercourse the two become one flesh:
 
I Corinthians 6
 
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.  16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
 
We see how the two become one flesh in this scripture.  Marriage is honorable.  But fornication for the NT church is not honorable.
 
Therefore Paul warns:
 
I Corinthians 6:18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
 
While there are no examples of marriage "ceremonies" in the Bible, the following scriptures certainly provide information as to the vow that should come in the marriage today.
 
Mark 10  Jesus says:
 
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
 
Genesis 2
 
18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
 
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and HE (God) took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made HE a woman, and brought her unto the man.23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
(Prior to the marriage, both the man and woman should be instructed on each of the above scriptures.)
 
And the following roles for the man and woman are important:
 
Genesis 3  (Because of the transgression)
 
16 Unto the woman HE (God) said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.17And unto Adam HE (God) said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Do you have the faith to pray asking God to choose the right mate for your child?
 
And then to pray asking God to teach you to love that mate properly and continue in prayer as to your own role in godliness toward the mate and your child.
 
This is a choice that I would want God to make.

I wanted you to see how God speaks to Pam for this is a very good example for you to know that God speaks to all of those who are the elect of God, not just to HIS chosen ministers.

In 1970 a boy in my class died in a motorcycle accident.  For the first time I realized that someone my age could die.  I also knew that if I died that day I would go to hell, and that the rituals I had been taught in the Catholic church could not save me.  
 
I strongly "knew" that my only hope was God.  
 
(Though Pam didn't realize it at the time this happened, it was God who put in into her heart that her only hope was God.  She was likely born again at that moment when Pam realized this.)
 
So I started to pray, but realized I didn't know who to address this prayer to.  
 
(We had been taught in the Catholic church that there is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, but I didn't know which one to pray to and it was very important to me that this prayer be heard.)  
 
So I started my prayer by saying "I know there is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, but I don't know which one to pray to.  So please get this prayer to the right one."  
 
Then I asked that, if there was any way possible to save me, to please do so.

After I prayed, my eyes were drawn to the following scripture which was written on a bookmark.  It strongly stood out to me and comforted me.   
 
Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 
Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 
For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.
 
Now I am sure it was God giving me the understanding that the rituals of the Catholic church could not save me and that God is my only hope, and drawing my attention to Matthew 11:28-30.

A short time after I turned to God asking Him to please save me, I began to realize that there was "something of God in me".  
 
One example is when I was talking with a few girls before class began.  One of the girls said "You could never guess where I went yesterday afternoon."   
 
I knew within me where she had gone.  I said "You went to the cemetery, to Tommy's grave."  (Tommy was the boy in our class who had died in the motorcycle accident.)
 
She said that was correct and that I must have seen her there.
 
I told her that I had not seen her, but they had gone on talking about other things and didn't seem to hear.  
 
But it was obvious to me that there was no way I could have known that she had gone to the cemetery.  It had to be that God had given me this information.  
 
I now believe this was a word of knowledge from God.
 
I Corinthians 12:8  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

During my senior year of high school, when my family returned home from visiting my sister at her college, a friend of my mom called her.  This friend's husband owned the wrecker service in our small town.  She told my mom that there had been a serious car accident involving some of the boys from our high school, but she didn't know who the boys were.
 
That night I was given a dream in which I was shown who had been in the accident and that Steve had been killed in it.  
 
Steve was in my class. 
 
The next morning my mom spoke with her friend again on the telephone and learned who had been in the accident.  My mom came to my room to tell me, but before she said anything I told her that I knew that Steve had been killed in the accident.  
 
I think my mom assumed I had overheard her talking with her friend, but I knew that God had told me this by the dream.

Although I knew there was "something of God in me" after I asked God to please save me, I didn't know what that was.  
 
A few years later God explained to me that it was the Holy Spirit in me as I read the following in I Corinthians. 
 
I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
 
I Corinthians 6:19   What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

A scripture that stood out to me as a young Christian is the following, helping me to trust in God, not in my own works.  
 
Psalm 46:10   Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

During the last months of college I rented a room in the home of a woman, Cindy, I had met in the singles group at the church I attended at the time.  Cindy had been divorced twice and had a young daughter.  At first she seemed content to remain single and raise her daughter.  But then she began to look for another husband.  
 
I spoke with her and shared scriptures with her warning that she would commit adultery if she remarried.  It was a big shock when she replied "I don't care what the Bible says.  I know what I believe."  
 
But God says:
 
Romans 7:2-3  For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
 
I Corinthians 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
 
I Corinthians 7:39  The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
 
I graduated and moved from Cindy's house shortly after this to a town about 30 minutes from where this church group met.  So I no longer attended the singles group meetings although I still attended the Sunday morning service and sat with those in the singles group, visiting with them before and after the service.
 
Someone told me that Cindy had become engaged to marry a man who also attended the singles group, Terry.  
 
I went to Terry and shared scripture with him warning of the adultery that would be committed if he and Cindy married since she was divorced.  Terry said he would consider these things, but he didn't stop the wedding plans.  
 
Matthew 5:32   But I (Jesus) say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
 
Then I heard that another woman I had met in the singles group, Lisa, was going to be maid of honor at Terry and Cindy's wedding.  
 
I went to Lisa and shared scripture warning of the adultery that would be committed by this marriage.  Lisa said she knew this was wrong but that they would get married anyway, so she was going to be maid of honor.  
 
I Timothy 5:22 ... neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

Then something strange began to happen when I went to the Sunday morning church service.  
 
One Sunday morning I got to the church a little early and sat in the area where those in the singles group sat, but none of the singles came to sit in that area.  As the service was about to begin, I turned and saw that those in the singles group were sitting in an area behind me.  
 
The next Sunday morning I sat in what I thought was the "new" singles group area, but those in the singles group sat in the "old" area.
 
The following Sunday morning I got to the church building shortly before the service began.  I went to where those in the singles group were sitting and sat down.  
 
Without saying a word, they got up and moved away from me to sit another area of the church auditorium.
 
Now it was obvious to me that those in the singles group did not want to associate with me, but I didn't know why. 
 
I cried out to God, asking what was going on?  Had I done something wrong?

A few weeks later a woman I didn't know very well came to me after the Sunday morning service.  
 
She said she had a word from God for me.  
 
The word she delivered was that God knew how those in the singles group were treating me, and that I needed to know it was because I had spoken to the various people involved in Cindy and Terry's wedding, and that this is what HE (God) had wanted me to do. 
 
It was so comforting to receive this word, for I then knew why this had happened and that I had done what was right in the sight of God.

In approximately 1983 while sitting in the Metrochurch auditorium waiting for the Sunday morning service to begin, I heard the following:   
 
"What are you doing sitting here?  I told you to get out.  Now get out."
 
I became convinced this was from God and asked God when HE had previously told me to leave this church group.  I was reminded of the "Poison Gas Dream" which Joan Boney had shared with us and warnings she had given to us about those church groups that corrupt the Word of God. 
 
The Poison Gas Dream   (1979)

Destruction was everywhere.
 
In this dream, a meeting was going on. A man was speaking to a room filled with people. I went in and began to listen. A second man rushed into the room and said: "Stop ... Wait ... Can't you see ... It's too late ... It's already begun." The first man resumed speaking. I looked out the window to see what had "already begun." There was a tall pole with a yellow civil defense speaker at top of the pole. A gas was coming out of the speaker. I knew it was poisonous and would kill the people. It was coming directly toward us! The shocking thing was the speaker that was set there for the purpose of warning us was being used as the instrument which dispersed the gas that was poison and would kill us! I looked at the man seated next to me. He had a big grin on his face and was looking directly at the man who was speaking to the group. But then I saw this man was a corpse, though he looked alive. He was already dead! I looked about the room at the other people and realized they were all dead. As I sat back in my chair and listened to the man speaking I began to feel sleepy and I knew as I sat there among them this was killing me too.
 
Dream ends.
 
God was showing me the anarchy in the church groups, at the time of the dream, 1979. And it is much worse today.

After God showed me this, I left that church group.    
 
Metrochurch was approving and performing marriage ceremonies in which the woman was divorced.  Many scriptures in the Bible show us that if a divorced woman remarries she commits adultery and the man who marries her commits adultery.

Pam says:
 
Here is another example of God speaking to me.
 
When my mom was very ill in an intensive care unit, I asked God if I should go to Oklahoma to be with her and help her.  The Holy Spirit spoke the following to me, and because of this, I did not go to Oklahoma:
 
"To go there would be like stepping into a hill of fire ants.  And your mom has everything she needs."
 
I believed this word.
 
When my mom recovered enough to go home, I spoke with her on the telephone.  She told me of several people who had come to the hospital to see her.  I realized that what these people tend to say and do is a grief to me.  It is like being stung by fire ants, very painful and requiring me to need healing by God from the poison of their words and works.  
 
My mom also told me of the wonderful care she had received.  She had everything she needed.

One day my sisters called to tell me my dad was very ill and not expected to live more than a few days, and that I needed to go to Oklahoma right away to be with him before he died.  I asked God what I should do and I heard:
 
"You've already said everything needed."
 
I did not go to be with my dad.  He recovered.  A couple weeks later when I called to talk with my parents my mom told me my dad was out mowing the yard.  
 
When my dad died a few years later, he simply died in his sleep.  
 
After my dad died, I asked God if HE would please let me know in some way whether my dad was born again.  
 
A few days later, I was given a dream in which my dad was my "brother".  I believe God was showing me that my dad is my brother in Christ, born again!

A year or two later I recognized a change in my mom.  She no longer spoke about other people and what they were doing.  Instead, she spoke of reading the Bible and things of God.  
 
She was changed, born again.
 
Several months later I was given a dream in which my mom was putting things in order.  I believed I was being shown she was putting things in her life in order and was about to die.  
 
She died about 2 weeks later.

In 2001 when looking for a house to buy near the new location of my work, none of the houses which were available to buy and which I had seen appealed to me.  I asked God to please show me what house to buy.  
 
I was given the idea to go through the information sheets I had picked up about each house I had seen.  As I did this, my attention was drawn to something about each house which showed that house wouldn't work for me ... each house except one.  
 
The Holy Spirit was showing me truth about each of these houses as I went through the information about the houses.  
 
John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
 
I arranged to again see the one house for which I was not shown any problem.  As I walked through the house I began to see things I really liked about the house but had missed the first time seeing it.  I purchased that house.  
 
This house has worked out perfectly for me throughout the 20 years I've lived in it.

The house layout even allowed me to add a main-floor bedroom and handicap accessible shower which I was led to add starting in July, 2018, 17 years after buying the house.  
 
The main-floor bedroom and shower were nearing completion when Joan Boney fell at her house in Texas in December, 2018, and she knew that she could not live alone any more.  God had also told her that she would never see her house (in Texas) again.  
 
After spending 2-1/2 months in hospitals, Joan moved from Texas to Colorado in February, 2019, and she has lived in the main-floor bedroom of my house since then.  And she finds that the handicap-accessible shower works very well for her.  
 
Its been wonderful to have another of the elect of God living right here, and it allows us to work together very easily on blogs, podcasts, and books. 
 
Notice the timeline of this story.  God worked it out perfectly:
 
* July, 2018, began construction, adding bedroom downstairs and handicap bath
* December, 2018, Joan fell at her house in Texas and spent 2 1/2 months in hospitals
* January, 2019, construction finished on downstairs bedroom/bath
* February 24, 2019, Joan moved into downstairs bedroom/bath

Proverbs 3:5-7  Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 
In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

In 2005, the man I was engaged to marry, who said he was a Christian, told me with gladness that his son was engaged to marry and what he planned to do to help with the wedding preparations.  The woman his son was engaged to marry was a divorced woman.  
 
I told him that, according to the Bible, his son would commit adultery if he married a divorced woman.
 
(Matthew 5:32  Jesus says:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.)
 
After telling what God has told us in the Bible about the adultery committed when a man marries a divorced woman, the man I was engaged to marry no longer wanted to marry me.  
 
I was quite upset.  
 
But then the Holy Spirit said to me "Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers".  
 
And I immediately knew that this man was not a "believer" although he said he was a Christian, for he did not believe and uphold the Word of God given to us in Matthew 5:32.
 
It was a great comfort to me to be shown the truth about this man I was engaged to marry, and it made me very grateful to God that I did not marry this man.  
 
 2 Corinthians 6:14-18   Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

In 2011, I was shown to leave my computer programming job at FedEx when the following scripture strongly caught my attention: 
 
Micah 2:10  Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

Words which God spoke to me, Joan Boney

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...
In the previous Podcast, I shared the Words God spoke to Abraham which are recorded in Genesis.
 
I suggest that you list some of those Words that God has spoken to you. For if you are born again, God will communicate with you by HIS Spirit.  I will give you an example of words God has sent to me at various times in my life.
 
There are far too many times God has spoken to me for me to list all of those Words, but I will share with you some of those Words which God has spoken to me during my life.

God said to me:
 
* August 5, 1975   "Joan ... you know those mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."
 
I was born again with those words.
 
💥💥💥
 
*  "Don't testify." 
 
Because I believed I had heard from God, I did not testify in a court trial where a woman had taken me to court over an incident that happened at my business in the mid-1970's.
 
💥💥💥
 
*  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the LORD.  (Isaiah 54:17)
 
By this word, I had faith to dismiss my lawyers and to go to court without any human legal counsel, stopping the attorney fees.

In approximate 1978, I was driving down highway and God began speaking to me and said:  "I have called you and set you into the body of Christ as an apostle."
 
I was shocked and replied:  "Apostle ... what's an apostle?"
 
Jesus said concerning ministers that HE would give to the New Testament church:  
 
Ephesians 4:11-12   And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
 
I knew I was a prophet but now God shows me I am also an apostle:  apostle/prophet  two offices
 
After I was born again, in the night, I was transported into heaven as I was asleep.  I was with God, with Christ, with the Holy Spirit.  (No images.  Just a spiritual experience.)  At that time, I was merged into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God, God and Holy Spirit witnessing.
 
A few nights later, exactly the same thing happened again in the night as I was sleeping.
 
2 offices:  2 ordinations by God 
 
(God taught me the work to do in the New Testament church in the offices of apostle and prophet.)

God has spoken many scriptures to me through the years.  I have taken those scriptures and kept them before me day and night, often for months, and "lived" those scriptures, making those scriptures a part of me.
 
John 5:30  Jesus says:  I can of Mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and MY judgment is just; because I seek not Mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent ME.
 
Mt. 16:13-19   When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, HE asked HIS disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14 And they said, Some say that THOU art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.15 HE saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?16 And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but MY Father which is in heaven.18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock (the word that God brings from heaven) I will build MY church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

As a new Christian in 1975, I was having severe satanic attacks and the following scripture stood out to me and when the problem struck I would focus on this scripture.
 
Psalm 118:17   I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
 
I put "Pray for wisdom," at top of the chapters of my Bible so I would remember to do this.  
 
Also I tried to remember to do this when a problem surfaced in my life.

Concerning the working of the Holy Spirit, God taught me the following:
 
John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
 
I Cor. 2      Paul says:
 
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM crucified.3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
 
John 6:63  Jesus says:  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

On January 10, 1980, in the night while I was sleeping, a very loud trumpet-like voice, spoke three words to me in my ear.
 
"Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"
 
Within 5 days, I was broadcasting exhortations for the church on radio KWJS.  Within the year, I was on radio from Hartford to Seattle.
 
I believe this was an angel of God speaking to me for the voice was like a trumpet and this is the way angels are described in the Bible.

I Thessalonians 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
 
One day God said to me, "in the air".  I found this in the above scripture.  God showed me the new heaven and the new earth where we will be taken.  Rev. 21

II Thessalonians 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
 
In 1982, God said to me:  "The falling away are not individuals leaving the church group.  The falling away are the church groups leaving the scriptures."
 
In 2017, God said the word, "restrains".  
 
I found this word in:
 
II Thessalonians 2:6-7 NASB   
 
6 And you know what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only HE who now restrains will do so until HE is removed.
 
It is Jesus, The Word, who restrains antichrist.  When The Word who restrains antichrist is removed from the church, antichrist moves into the church group.

Some of the scriptures God taught me to live:
 
Philippians 2:5-7  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  But made himself of no reputation,
 
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Psalm 23:1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
 
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
 
Philippians 4:6-7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.   And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
 
(The above are just some of the scriptures God has spoken to me which I have lived by keeping these verses before me day and night, sometimes for months, to do the scriptures.)

On December 6, 2018, when I fell at my house in Texas and was trying to crawl with a broken hip and badly broken left wrist, I didn't think I could get to the phone to call for help.  But if I didn't I felt I might die there on the floor because no one was due to come to my house until the following week.  I heard these words from the Holy Spirit.  "You can do this."  Because I knew this was from God, I began inching my way an inch at a time toward the room where there was a phone.  It took 4 1/2 hours to reach the phone which was on top of a table.  I pulled on the cord and the phone receiver squirted off and I never saw it again.  But under that table there was a Kindle tablet which was recharging.  I managed to send email to our church group saying, "Help ... fallen ... send ambulance."  Pam Padgett from Colorado called the Lubbock, Texas, police department and told them what had happened and they sent ambulance to my house.
 
As the ambulance workers were rolling me on a gurney past my front door, I heard from God:
 
"You'll never see this house again."
 
I was in hospitals for 2 1/2 months.  From my hospital room, I put the house up for sale with realtor. 
 
I never saw the Texas house again.  I was taken, on February 24, 2019, directly to Colorado where I would live with Pam Padgett in her home and she would help me.

The Texas house was on the real estate market from December, 2018, through March 11, 2020. When the Coronavirus hit USA, I was terrified and asked God, "Is there anything YOU want me to do about that house in Texas?"  
 
Immediately, I heard these words of instruction from God:  "Put the house on special sale for one week and reduce the price."
 
I called realtor that same day and gave her the above instructions.
 
The house sold in 2 days.

In June, 2020, I was considering putting new upholstery on my 25 year old car.  God spoke to me by HIS Spirit saying, "Or you could just buy a new car."
 
"That's right!  I could."  I had just sold the Texas house and the money was in my bank account.  I could pay cash for a car and have money left over from the sale of the house.
 
That same night, I had a dream where I bought a new car.
 
The following day, I told Pam Padgett about these words from God and the dream, and told her I would like to go that afternoon and look for a car.  We drove 4 cars and selected one and bought that car that afternoon.

One day in 2021, I was bombarded by a series of thoughts:  "You're 83.  What if this happens to you?  What if that happens?  What if you get to where you can't walk?  You'll have to go to assisted living home."
 
I cried out:  "God ... help me!"
 
Instantly, the thought came to me from the Holy Spirit:  "God will supply all your need."
 
"That's right!"  I shouted with great joy and relief!

It is so important for each member of the body of Christ to share with the body of Christ for by sharing that which God has said to us and that which God has done in our lives, we allow others to see God working in us and our own faith becomes effectual and the body of Christ is helped.

Part 2: Words which God spoke to Abraham

Genesis 18
 
1 And the LORD appeared unto him (to Abraham) in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
(God appeared to Abraham in the form of 3 angels who appeared before him.)
 
9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.10 And HE said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.  
(Sarah laughed.)
 
13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? 
At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. 
And HE said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which HE hath spoken of him.20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto ME; and if not, I will know.

Abraham pleaded with God for Sodom to be saved and God said HE would not destroy Sodom if there were 10 righteous men in Sodom.
 
But the men of Sodom were exceeding wicked above all other men.  (Genesis 13:13) 
 
The men of Sodom were homosexuals in "every quarter" of the city of Sodom.  (Genesis 19)
 
God destroyed Sodom after HE removed Abraham's nephew, Lot.

Genesis 21
 
11 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son (Ishmael).12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.2 And HE said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
Abraham took his only son Isaac to the mountain which was specified by God and Abraham tied Isaac and put him on the top of the wood and took a knife in his hand to kill Isaac as God told him to do.
 
11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.12 And HE said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from ME.
15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 
16 And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed MY voice.
(When an angel of God speaks the Word of God, it is the same as God speaking.)

Words which God spoke to Abraham

Adam was created by God from the dust of the ground. 
 
Genesis 1
 
First God created everything the man and woman would need :  The heaven and earth, plants, animals, fish and fowl, trees for fruit.  
 
Then God created man.  
 
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.27 So God created man in HIS own image, in the image of God created HE him; male and female created HE them.28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
 
31 And God saw every thing that HE had made, and, behold, it was very good.  And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
 
Genesis 2
 
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

After Adam, multitudes of people were born as sons and daughters of men of the earth.
 
Enoch was a friend of God and did not see death for God removed Enoch from the earth.  
 
Hebrews 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
 
Noah found grace in the sight of God and God kept Noah from being destroyed in the flood.  Genesis 6
 
God called Abraham and removed him from his father's house and from his people.  Genesis 12
 
God spoke to Abraham several times promising Abraham a seed that would be great nations and even more than the dust of the earth if it were possible to count the dust, and as the number of stars in the heavens.
 
Here are some of those promises and words which God presented to Abraham.
 
The focal point is on "that which God spoke" ... that is what is important!
 
To each of us the focal point  in our lives is "That which God spoke to us."

I am the Almighty God; walk before ME, and be thou perfect.2 And I will make MY covenant between ME and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,4 As for ME, behold, MY covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.7 And I will establish MY covenant between ME and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep MY covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.10 This is MY covenant, which ye shall keep, between ME and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish MY covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.21 But MY covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

I think it is so interesting to see the Words God gave to Abraham and to see the promises of God and how all that God spoke to Abraham was fulfilled and how Abraham obeyed God in all things spoken by God to him.
 
God speaks to us today by HIS Spirit and by dreams and even by angels.
 
Write out those things you can remember God saying to you although there are so many things the Holy Spirit says, yet some words will really stand out to you even years after God spoke them to you.
 
Every one of the words spoken to us by God will happen.
 
Also as we share those words God spoke to us and those things God did for us we show God working in our lives and other people are also blessed by our testimony.
 
Philemon v. 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
 
When we tell what God has said and has done in our lives, our faith becomes "effectual" and others see God through our testimony.

Abram has no heir, but God keeps telling Abram that he will be the father of many nations

Noah was a righteous man and therefore God did not destroy Noah in the waters of the flood but God made a way of escape for Noah. (the ark)
 
God also raised up another righteous man unto HIMSELF, Abraham.  (Gen. 12)
 
God spoke to Abram and told him to depart from his father's house and Abram departed.
 
Abram departed as the Lord had told him but he didn't know where he was going.  He just departed from his father's land.
 
Genesis 12
 
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
(For 25 years, God told Abram that great nations would come from his seed.  But Sarai, Abram's wife was barren.  In spite of the circumstances, Abram believed God and it was counted by God as righteousness because Abram believed God.  He refused to believe that which he saw with his natural eyes.  Abram clung to the Word of God.)5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
 
Abram had no seed.  Abram had no children and his wife Sarai was barren.  Abram was 75 when he departed as God had told him to do and Abram was going to wait another 25 years before God gave him "that promised seed."
8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

God had chosen Abram and God was with Abram wherever Abram went and God blessed Abram and God cursed anyone who would hurt Abram.
 
Genesis 12
 
11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
 
Abram is blessed by God and called by God and God is with Abram and no man will hurt Abram for he is the called of God, the chosen by God as was Moses and Joshua later, and as are we now.
 
Joshua 1:5  God says to Joshua: 
 
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
 
And so it is with those chosen by God.
 
Hebrews 13:5
 
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
 
Revelation 3:5  Jesus says:
 
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.

God creates a righteous man: Abram (Abraham)

Noah was a righteous man, so when God destroyed this present earth by waters covering the earth, God made a way to save the life of Noah and His generations.
 
God later raised up another righteous man:  Abram, renamed Abraham by God.
 
Genesis 12  (God speaks to Abram)
 
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him;
Keeping the Word spoken by God before us is the only thing that matters.  As we do that, we follow God.  In the coming Podcasts and writings, we will focus on what God said.

It is so simple.  God speaks to us and we obey God.
 
Often people will try to turn us from what God said for us to do.
 
Many of our foes are they of our own households, says Jesus.  
 
Matthew 10
 
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.37 He that loveth father or mother more than ME is not worthy of ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than ME is not worthy of ME.38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after ME, is not worthy of ME.39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for MY sake shall find it.
 
The Word comes to us and is like a sword, dividing us from those who do not have The Word.
 
I Peter 2
 
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of HIM who hath called you out of darkness into HIS marvellous light:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
 
Once we were a part of this world but now we are as strangers and pilgrims upon this earth.
 
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
 
I Peter 4
 
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
 
The Word God gave to us divides us from that which we once were and causes us to be a new creature as we go in God's way.
 
II Corinthians 5:17
 
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
 
We are changed by God after God speaks to us and we are divided from the world that we once served.

They watch us and fight us, but there is no counsel against the Word God gives us.
 
Proverbs 21:30-31   There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.  The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
 
The Word that we have heard from God is all that matters.
 
Matthew 13:45-46    Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
 
And many are turned to God as we follow God with all our heart.  For we will do that which is right in the sight of God and we will not compromise that word that we believe to be from God and many will see and understand and be turned to the Lord.
 
But we follow God for we know God is all that matters in this life.

God's instruction to Noah and his sons after the flood

Genesis 9
 
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made HE man.

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

From the beginning of man, disobedience toward God was exhibited through man.  By the time of Noah, God saw what man was and it was described as follows:
 
Genesis 6:5   And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
 
11  The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
 
Many people like to think that man is basically good.  But the opposite is shown in the Bible.  Most men are basically evil for the imaginations of the thoughts of their heart is only evil continually, as stated by God.
 
Humans often exalt other humans and call them good but the Bible show us the opposite.
 
Occasionally a righteous man would rise up, such and Noah, and God would save that righteous man.
 
But mostly humans are evil as shown us by the Bible.

Humans do the works of the flesh of man:
 
Galatians 6
 
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft (following various superstitions), hatred, variance (to vary/argue), emulations (to exalt themselves above others), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
 
The answer for man came with Jesus Christ who said:
 
John 3:7  Ye must be born again.
 
God reveals HIMSELF to us and causes us to be changed from that which we once were.
 
II Corinthians 5:17   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
 
God gives us HIS own Spirit, the Holy Spirit, who lives in us to teach us and guide us and show us what to do.
 
And as we walk in the Spirit, doing the will shown to us by the Holy Spirit, we keep our flesh under control so it no longer does what it wants to do.
 
If we walk in the Spirit, following that which is brought to our mind by the Holy Spirit of God, we have no condemnation.  
 
Romans 8:1   There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
 
So by choosing the way of the Spirit we overcome our own flesh and keep our flesh crucified, not letting our flesh do what it wants to do.
 
The flesh never improves.  We just keep it under the control of the Spirit as we walk in the ways shown us by the Spirit.
 
And when we choose the way of the Spirit we will automatically produce the fruits of the Spirit.
 
Galatians 5:22-23   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
 
It is not that we learn to do the works of the Spirit.  Because the Spirit lives in us, HE brings thoughts to our mind and we do that which HE shows us.  And when we do that which the Spirit brings to mind, our righteousness is of God because it is God who authored our righteousness through HIS Spirit.
 
Therefore in all things, we pray, asking God to help us and to show us what to do.
 
We put our trust in God rather than trusting in our own selves.
 
When the problems come in this life, we turn to God and follow what HE shows us in the matter at hand.
 
Thus we are a totally different person from that one who was born in the flesh.  Now we are born in the Spirit.
 
I Cor. 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
 
We are the church.
 
Now God gives us HIS Word and we follow HIM.

God gives us spiritual gifts.
 
And when we speak and do those spiritual gifts, the elect of God recognizes us as being of God.
 
I attended a neighborhood prayer group which met in the home of a woman in my area of Dallas when I lived there in the mid-1970's.
 
One day, the women were praying and I heard, "Look up."
 
I saw the outline of a stomach on the wall.
 
After the women quit praying, I said:  "Does anyone have a stomach problem?"
 
One woman became very excited and began jumping up and down and said, "I do.  I do."
 
This is the way God showed me word of knowledge, by showing me a vision of the situation on the blank wall.
 
When I shared the vision with the church group, often individuals in the groups would say, "We know the hand of God is upon you." 
 
I could see that God was identifying me to the church when I shared what God gave me.

I attended a Sunday school class where our teacher always said:  "Does anyone have a word from the Lord?"
 
By this, the door was open for the Holy Spirit to speak through those of us as God willed.

One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the spiritual gift of "helps."
 
I Corinthians 12:27-28  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.   And God hath set some in the church (to work in the church), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
 
Pam Padgett has this spiritual gift of helps.  She helped her elderly neighbor, Jim, until he died.  She helped an elderly woman two doors down from her until she died.  She helps me now with my physical needs.  Also she has helped the church by doing the technical publishing work for the blog, books, Podcasts, and Twitter.  She does these things "easily" for God has enabled her to do these things without much effort, just as God enables me to speak and write with a minimum of effort.  These are gifts from God for the church.
 
God's yoke is easy and HIS burden is light!
 
When the spiritual gift is from God, it is so easy for us to do this thing.  I think that is likely universally true.  
 
If it is hard to do, that is not your assignment from God.

And we must understand that we are like the human body.  The hand does not do what the eye does, but both parts are very important to the functioning of the body.
 
Paul says:
 
I Corinthians 12  
 
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.14 For the body is not one member, but many.15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased HIM.
 
Each of us must work in the area where God has assigned us in the body of Christ.
 
God trains us and raises us up for that work.  We have gifts from God to enable us to do our assignment.
 
We almost feel we have been being prepared for this assignment all our lives because it is so easy for us to do.
 
In my case, I have been assigned the work of apostle and prophet in the church and have been given gift of exhortation, and probably faith and discerning of spirits.  And even from childhood, I was on stage in both acting and music so it is natural for me to speak to the church and also to write for I've been a writer as long as I can remember.  But the actual assignment and calling for what I do is from God and I am enabled by God to do this work.
 
We must stay "in the land" where God has placed us.
 
There is no way I could do what Pam does!  I would fail if I tried that, for it is not my assignment from God.
 
I think it is good for us to know our assignment.  And definitely to stay where God places us!
 
(Paul explained that "some of the members" work in the church, but definitely not all work in the church but all have spiritual gifts and assignments from God in the body of Christ and all are important to the body of Christ.)
 
I Corinthians 12
 
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
 
Romans 12
 
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;7 Or ministry (serving), let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Prove all things; Hold fast that which is good (I Thess. 5:21)

As a new Christian in 1975, my young friend and I began looking for the scripture where it says all men are created equal.
 
We couldn't find that in the Bible.
 
So we went to a man who was a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and asked him where this is in the Bible.
 
He said:  "That statement is not in the Bible."
 
We were shocked!
 
(Seems that I have heard this statement all my life.)

The New Testament Bible is the rule book for the New Testament church.  All scripture is inspired by God and by scripture we can know the will of God for the church as we live on this present earth.
 
We prove all things by the scriptures and through prayer over these scriptures.
 
So if you want to know what God says about a subject, look up the scriptures on that subject in the New Testament Bible and compare scripture with scriptures.
 
For example:
 
Paul says the following scripture is a "commandment of the Lord".
 
I Corinthians 7:10-11   And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
 
In the New Testament Bible, there is only one grounds for a man to divorce his wife.  Jesus shows us this in the following scripture.
 
Matthew 5:32   But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
 
A man in our little church group filed divorce papers against his wife.
 
When I heard about this, I called this man and asked him, "Was your wife unfaithful?"
 
He paused before answering.  Then he said, "No."
 
I replied:  "The only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife is Matthew 5:32.  The unfaithful wife can be divorced without penalty for the husband who divorces her."
 
Apparently this man carefully considered what Jesus said in Matthew 5:32 to the men concerning divorcing their wives, because this man withdrew the divorce proceedings from the US court system.
 
Jesus says:
 
* If a man divorces a faithful wife and that faithful wife remarries, he will be the cause of the adultery she commits when she remarries.
 
and
 
* The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
 
If a man is unfaithful, can his wife divorce him?  No.  For I Cor. 7:10-11 says it is a commandment of the Lord that the wife not leave her husband, "but and if she departs let her remain unmarried or be reconciled with her husband."
 
You must compare scripture with scripture:
 
And you must pray and follow the Holy Spirit.
 
The Holy Spirit will not tell you to do something that is contrary to the New Testament Bible.
 
Antichrist spirit will try to get us to go in a way opposite to the New Testament Bible so we will be separate from God and follow antichrist.  
 
Antichrist always wants to rule over the church and take us from scripture.
 
II Thessalonians 2:3-4   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

After the flood in the days of Noah

It rained on the earth 40 days and 40 nights and all flesh died except for Noah and those in the ark with him.
 
After the flood, God dried the land from the waters and brought Noah and all living creatures out of the ark, and God made a covenant with Noah.
 
Genesis 8
 
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in HIS heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
 
Genesis 9
 
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between ME and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

But we know the day of judgment comes with the second coming of Jesus.

29  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
(They mourn because they know all that they built on this earth for themselves will be destroyed.)31 And HE (Jesus) shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
 
The elect of God will be taken into heaven where they will meet Jesus and those who are risen from the dead and they will be taken to the new heaven and the new earth, the new Jerusalem, which is created by God for them, wherein dwelleth only righteousness.

The New Testament sabbath: Living in a state of rest in God as we cease from our own works

There is an Old Testament sabbath and there is a sabbath for the New Testament church.
 
In the following scripture, the sabbath for the New Testament church is described.
 
Hebrews 4
 
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into HIS rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as HE said, As I have sworn in MY wrath, if they shall enter into MY rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.4 For HE spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all HIS works.5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY rest.6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, HE limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts.8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would HE not afterward have spoken of another day.9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.10 For he that is entered into HIS rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from HIS.

Here is an example of the New Testament sabbath:
 
One day, in 2021, I was bombarded with groupings of negative thoughts:  "What if you get to where you can't walk.  You'll have to go to assisted living.  You're 83.  What if this happens to you?  What if that happens to you?"
 
I was very disturbed and I cried out to God:  "God help me!"
 
Instantly the following came into my mind:  "God will supply all your needs."
 
"That's Right"!  I shouted!  and all the weight lifted and I was once again in a complete rest in God, in peace in God.
 
This is the New Testament sabbath ... a rest in God and what HE has told you.

Here is an example of the sabbath in the days of the Old Testament:
 
Numbers 15
 
32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
 
Exodus 31
 
14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among HIS people.15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
 
Jeremiah 17
 
But if ye will not hearken unto ME to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
(They could not bear a burden on the sabbath. Neither shall we bear burdens, but rather we cast our burdens on the Lord by prayer.)
 
Isaiah 58:13
 
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on MY holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour HIM, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
(If you want to live by Old Testament sabbath, you can't do any of your own pleasures such as watching TV.  You certainly couldn't "gather manna" on the sabbath.  You would have to buy your groceries on the day before the sabbath and cook your food on the day before the sabbath for you couldn't light any fire in your "tent" on the sabbath.  You could not read secular books nor do secular things nor even speak your own words on the sabbath.  And if you want to live by this law of the Old Testament then you have to live by every Old Testament law!)

Since the days of Noah, the only change in man has come through God by Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit

Man, who is born of the flesh, does the works of the flesh.
 
The flesh never improves.  By the Holy Spirit we can control the flesh.  But the flesh is always trying to rise up in us and take over.
 
This is the reason we see so much sin, corruption, violence, and hatred in the acts of humans today.
 
The flesh is ruling in those persons who do evil works.

21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft (living in superstitions), hatred, variance (arguing), emulations (trying to outdo others), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
We who are born again, born of the Spirit of God, have the Spirit of God in us so we can choose those things brought to our attention by the Spirit of God and overcome our own flesh, not doing the works of the flesh but choosing to do those things shown to us by the Spirit.
 
Galatians 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
 
Romans 8:1   There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
 
We control our own flesh by refusing to do that which our flesh wants to do and instead we do that which the Holy Spirit shows us to do in the matter at hand.

Here is an example:
 
I am 83 at the time of this writing.  
 
One day I was bombarded with thoughts.
 
"What will you do if this happens to you?  What will you do if that happens?  How will you handle this?"
 
I cried out to God:  "Help me!"
 
Immediately this was brought to my mind:  "God will supply all your need."
 
"That's right!"  I exclaimed!
 
Instantly I believed that Word, "God will supply all my need", and I was at peace and was joyful over that Word.
 
(When we believe God and rest in HIS Word, we enter into HIS rest and live in the New Testament sabbath, ceasing from our own works.)
 
If I had reacted by the flesh, I would have been trying to make plans for "what if".
 
But to walk in the way of the Spirit is to walk appropriately to the word I heard from the Spirit:
 
"God will supply all your needs."  
 
So do nothing, unless you hear there is something to do, knowing that God will deal with each problem, often even supplying that need before there is a need.
 
So we live in a state of rest in God (our sabbath) and peace because we believe that word brought to us by the Spirit.
 
And when we go in the way shown us by the Spirit, we will bear the fruits of the Spirit automatically by that way which we are going.
 
Galatians 5:22-23   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:

In the New Testament church, we are given the Holy Spirit at the time we are born again by God.
 
Ephesians 1
 
1 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (The Word):4 According as HE hath chosen us in HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before HIM in love:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ (The Word) to HIMSELF, according to the good pleasure of HIS will,6 To the praise of the glory of HIS grace, wherein HE hath made us accepted in the beloved.7 In WHOM we have redemption through HIS blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of HIS grace;8 Wherein HE hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;9 Having made known unto us the mystery of HIS will, according to HIS good pleasure which HE hath purposed in HIMSELF:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times HE might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in HIM:

So of the natural man, the man who is born only of the flesh and is not of the Spirit of God, we read.
 
Genesis 6
 
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
 
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted HIS way upon the earth.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
(God said to me:  "You will never make this present earth righteous, no matter what you do.")14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man

Jesus is telling us in Luke 17, that as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of Jesus when HE raises the dead in Christ and sends HIS angels to gather the elect of God from off this earth.
 
What were the masses of people like in the days of Noah?
 
As the people were in Noah's time, so shall they be in the end of this present world.
 
Genesis 6

In the days of Lot, homosexuals lived in "every quarter" of the city of Sodom and they came out to have sex with the 2 men who visited in the home of Lot.
 
In the Old Testament, homosexuals were called "Sodomites."
 
Genesis 19
 
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
(know them:  have sex with them)6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
(Lot knew this was wickedness for Lot was a righteous man.)
 
2 Peter 2
 
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:8  (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

At the end of this present world, God will destroy the heavens and the earth with fire.

God recognizes those who are HIS

Abraham had 2 sons.  But God calls "Isaac" Abraham's only son.
 
Genesis 22:1-2   And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.2 And HE (God) said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
The child of the flesh, by the will of man, Ishmael was not recognized by God.
 
Isaac was the child of the promise made by God to Abraham.

Cain and Abel, the sons of Adam and Eve, gave an offering to God.  God recognized Abel's offering.  
 
We see the line of the children of God going through Abel, the second born, and Cain was cast away from God.
 
Hebrews 11:4  By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

I was reading in Genesis, and noticed a "lineage" of the people who were children of the promise running from generation to generation.
 
Cain killed his brother Abel, but God gave Adam and Eve another son named Seth.
 
Genesis 4:25  And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
 
Seth is named in the lineage of the generations of Adam, but Cain is not named.

1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made HE him;2 Male and female created HE them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
(It caught my attention that after Seth, Adam begat "sons and daughters", but only Seth was named as the son of Adam.)5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
(But in Seth's sons and daughters, only Enos was named.)
 
8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:10 And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.12 And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:13 And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:16 And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
(The 3 named sons of Noah were all saved from the flood in the ark built by Noah.)

I believe God called my attention to the above and I believe God was showing a lineage of the elect of God by naming the names in this list of generations of Adam.
 
Also I am reminded that God destroyed the masses of people who lived on this earth in the days of Noah.  
 
These people descended from Adam for there was no other person to come from.
 
And we read the following concerning the people who lived during of the time of Noah:
 
Genesis 6

The elect of God: The children of the promise

The elect of God are the children of "the promise".  
 
We are chosen by God and HE reveals Himself to us and changes us from that person we once were.  
 
Paul says:
 
II Corinthians 5:17
 
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Paul speaks of the elect of God in the following scripture:
 
Romans 9
 
6 For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of HIM that calleth;)12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Even before the children were born, Jacob was chosen by God and made to be "the elect of God" but God says, HE hated Esau, Jacob's brother.
 
(Many church goers try to explain away these things concerning the elect of God.)
 
But look at the following scripture:
 
Matthew 24:31   And HE (Jesus) shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
 
In the last days, it is "the elect of God" that Jesus gathers to Himself.
 
There is a difference between church goers and the elect of God.
 
The elect of God are born again by the will of God and are given the Holy Spirit of God.
 
Romans 9
 
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew MY power in thee, and that MY name might be declared throughout all the earth.18 Therefore hath HE mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom HE will HE hardeneth.

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, HE asked HIS disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?16 And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but MY Father which is in heaven.18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The elect of God are taught by God and they are blessed because God revealed HIMSELF and truth to them.  
 
The ROCK upon which the church is built is that Word which God gives to each person who has the Holy Spirit of God.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
 
I Corinthians 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
 
Unless you are born again, you cannot "see" things of God.

Genesis 4
 
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
(Abel is the elect of God.)3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
(Able is God's elect.)5 But unto Cain and to his offering HE (God) had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. 
And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
(But God is not deceived by Cain.)10 And HE (God) said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto ME from the ground.11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
(Sin carries penalties.)12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.14 Behold, THOU hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from THY face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. 
And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Sin causes a person to want to hide

Genesis 3
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
(Now they knew sin.  And they no longer wanted to be around anyone who might see their sin.)9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard THY voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.11 And HE (God) said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?12 And the man said, The woman whom THOU gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
 
Penalties come because of sin:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.16 Unto the woman HE said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.17 And unto Adam HE said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

We can't hide from God.
 
Hebrews 4
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in HIS sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of HIM with whom we have to do.

When we are in peace and joy, we know we are at rest in God.
 
When we are troubled and grieved, we need to be restored by God to a state of peace and joy.
 
David prayed:
 
Psalms 51
10   Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.11 Cast me not away from THY presence; and take not THY Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore unto me the joy of THY salvation; and uphold me with THY free spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.
 
The Holy Spirit unravels situations and guides us into all truth and teaches us all things.
 
John 14:26   (Jesus says)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
John 16:13   Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God) , that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

When truth is mixed with lies

The serpent came to Eve and presented a very twisted statement.
 
Genesis 3
 
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
(Eve added to that which God said.  God did not say, "Neither shall ye touch it.")
 
The following is what God commanded to Adam:
 
Genesis 2
 
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
When a person adds to the Word of God, he weakens that Word of God.  Because that person who does this knows he added something and therefore it becomes difficult for that person to believe the actual Word from God because he knows only part of what he said is actually the Word from God.
 
We must be very careful in handling the Word of God.
 
If we have the Word of God in writing, we must return to that which God said and be certain of that which God actually said, and we must look at the Word many times.

Genesis 3
 
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
(People want to be "as gods", being wise in their own eyes.)  
 
Those who are really godly know they can do nothing of themselves, as Jesus said of Himself in John 5:30.  
 
Jesus said:  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear (from God), I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent ME.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The apostle Paul describes antichrist as follows:
 
II Thessalonians 2:4   Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
 
This is what they were teaching us at Word of Faith when I attended this church.  (1977-1982)
 
We were being taught to be "as god" ... looking for scripture to justify what we wanted and claiming that scripture daily until we got that which we wanted.  We were even being taught that we could take "authority" over the devil and stop things such as hail from damaging our house.  And we were supposed to be able to stop the devil from bringing illness to us and to those in our family by taking "authority" as believers over the devil.
 
Many people want to be as gods, controlling everything as God does.
 
This is not trusting in God or turning in prayer to God but rather trying to be god.
 
And we were never told to seek the will of God at Word of Faith church.  We were supposed to know the will of God and look for scripture, basically to justify that which we desired for ourselves.
 
This is exactly how Paul described antichrist in II Thessalonians 2:4.
 
(Word of Faith is not the only antichrist church but just one of many churches of the apostasy.  For many churches fall away from portions of scripture and set up doctrines opposite from those doctrines of the Holy Bible.)

39 (Ye) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of ME.40 And ye will not come to ME, that ye might have life.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.
 
The Holy Spirit who is in us will unravel the lies and set our doctrines straight again.
 
There is much deception in today's church, in the teachings and doctrines.
 
II Timothy 3
 
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of WHOM thou hast learned them;
(God teaches us by HIS Spirit.)15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The commandment of God to Adam

In the apostate church of the New Testament, before Jesus returns to gather the elect of God, those churches will show a desire "to be God" as they sit in the "temple of God" and cast aside portions of scripture and set up doctrines contrary to the New Testament Bible.
 
The apostle Paul says Jesus cannot return for the elect of God until this falling away from scripture takes place in those churches of the end time apostasy.
 
II Thessalonians 2:3-4   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
 
(In 1982, God said to me:  "The falling away are not individuals leaving the church groups.  The falling away are the church groups leaving the scriptures.)

I recalled this word being in the following version of the Bible.

6 And you know what restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only HE who now restrains will do so until HE is removed.
 
I asked God, "Who is it that restrains antichrist?"
 
Immediately I knew the answer:  The Word, Jesus, restrains antichrist until HE, The Word, is removed, and then antichrist moves into the churches.
 
At that time, I knew why it was I had been seeing pastors add things to the Bible and misuse the Bible. And I knew the reason they felt no shame when I called this to their attention. 
 
They were antichrist of the end times.

We are saved from our sins by the blood of Jesus and it is the Holy Spirit of God showing us our sins.  
 
But after we have been shown our sins, if we return to those sins where we have been enlightened by God to those sins, there is no more sacrifice for those sins for Jesus paid for them once and if we need to have Jesus pay again for our sins it will be to require Jesus to be crucified again and that will not be possible.
 
Hebrews 9
 
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:25 Nor yet that HE should offer HIMSELF often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;26 For then must HE often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath HE appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of HIMSELF.27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for HIM shall HE appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

So we are forgiven our sins.  But if we return again to those same sins, there is no more sacrifice for those same sins for we have been forgiven once and to return to those sins would require us to crucify Jesus again.

God creates man and woman

The apostle Paul shows us that at the time of sexual intercourse the two become one flesh.
 
I Corinthians 6
 
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh.17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
 
Fornication is a sin that is different from all other sins.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
*  The faithful wife, who has been divorced by her husband, will commit adultery if she remarries, but her husband who divorced the faithful wife will be the cause of her adultery.
 
*  The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

10-11  And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

At the time of sexual intercourse, the two become one flesh.
 
Only by death can you separate one flesh.
 
This is the way God created them.
 
There is a serious unstated penalty to that person who would divorce his mate and to the woman also who would leave her husband and marry another man while her husband still lived.

God rests from all HIS work

The New Testament Sabbath
 
Presented here will be both the New Testament Sabbath and the Old Testament Sabbath.
 
I will present the New Testament Sabbath first because after you read what the Bible says about the Old Testament Sabbath, I believe you will be greatly relieved that we today do not have to follow that Sabbath but we have another type of Sabbath in the New Testament church.
 
Hebrews 4
 
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into HIS rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as HE said, As I have sworn in MY wrath, if they shall enter into MY rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.4 For HE spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all HIS works.5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY rest.6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:7 Again, HE limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts.8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would HE not afterward have spoken of another day.9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.10 For he that is entered into HIS rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from HIS.11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
 
For the New Testament church, the "Sabbath" is a continual ceasing from our own fleshly works and doing the Works of God daily by the Spirit of God.

The Old Testament Sabbath
 
Exodus 31
 
12 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily MY sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between ME and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
 
(They could not even light a fire in their "tent" to cook their food.)
 
In the wilderness they had to gather a double portion of food on the day before the Sabbath for no one was allowed to gather food on the Sabbath.  
 
Exodus 16:23   And he (Moses) said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
 
(They could not gather food on the Sabbath, neither could they cook food on the Sabbath.  They had to prepare all food the day before the Sabbath.)

I was in the grocery store on a Sunday and a woman in front of me at the check out area was chastising the cashier who was working at the store.  Apparently they attended the same church group.  
 
This woman said, "I can't believe you are working on a Sunday."
 
The cashier replied,  "Another woman became ill and they called me to come in to take her place."
 
The first woman said, "But I can't believe you would do this thing!"
 
After a few more rounds of chastising by the first woman, I spoke up and said to the woman who was berating the cashier:  "If you want to live by Old Testament law, then what are you doing buying groceries on a Sunday for to keep the Sabbath you would have to remain in your tent all day.  You would certainly not be permitted to do shopping on the Sabbath."
 
The first woman said no more, paid for her groceries and left the store.

Exodus 3115 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.17 It is a sign between ME and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day HE rested, and was refreshed.

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on MY holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour HIM, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
(If we go by Old Testament Sabbath rules, we could not do any of our own pleasures on the Sabbath:  that would mean no TV shows, no secular book reading, no shopping.  We would have to stay in our own tents and rest on the "Sabbath".  We couldn't even speak our own words about secular things.)14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

(Are you sure that you want to keep the "Sabbath" by Old Testament laws?)

Mark 3:2  And they watched HIM (Jesus), whether HE would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.   
 
When we read these Old Testament scriptures concerning keeping the Sabbath, we see how hard it would be for them to transfer their thinking from the laws of the Old Testament to the way of the New Testament.
 
In the New Testament, we keep the Sabbath continually, each day, by ceasing from our own works and by doing HIS works.  (Hebrews 4)
 
Nehemiah 13
 
15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
(This was correctly done by Old Testament law.)

Nehemiah 13:21   Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.

Luke 13:15   The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
 
Exodus 31:14   Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
 
Exodus 16:29   See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore HE giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

A question:  Is the Sabbath on a Saturday or on a Sunday?
 
Also consider this:  If you want to live by the OT law, you have to do all of the OT law.

God created the heaven and the earth and man

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(From the beginning, the Holy Spirit of God was present in the creation of God.)3 And God said,  Let there be light: and there was light.
God spoke The Word, and it was created.  Everything that was created was created by HIM, by The Word, by Jesus:  
 
John 1:1-3   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2 The same was in the beginning with God.  3  All things were made by HIM (The Word); and without HIM (The Word) was not any thing made that was made.

Everything God created was good.
 
The heaven stayed in place according to God's Word.  The sun, moon, and stars stayed in place and did according to God's word.  The animals, the fowl, the fish did as God commanded them.  
 
But man did not continue in that Word given to him, and man and woman turned from God's commandment and did evil and tried to be as God in their own wisdom.
 
And for this, man brought destruction upon himself and upon all the earth in the days of Noah.

God speaks to the elect of God, HIS children, by HIS Spirit

God puts HIS own Spirit into HIS children so HE can communicate constantly with us, guiding us, teaching us, showing us what to do as we live in this present world.
 
God's Spirit is HOLY and true and comforts us in every way in everything we do.
 
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus HIMSELF.

John 16:13   Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM crucified.3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
 
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
