This chapter of the Bible shows us God's way of dealing with people when evil is done

God has "good" to give to those people who worship HIM.
 
The Bible shows God raising up evil and adversaries for those who go against HIM.
 
This is an example for us to encourage us to cling to that which is good.  Avoid evil.  Do that which God says and set your path for reward from God.
 
Solomon:
 
I Kings 11
 
But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
 
2 Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
 
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
 
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.
 
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
 
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father.
 
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
 
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
 
9 And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
 
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded.
 
11 Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept MY covenant and MY statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
 
12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
 
13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.
 
14 And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.
 
15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
 
16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)
 
17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
 
18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
 
19 And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
 
20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.
 
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.
 
22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.
 
(God has HIS instruments of destruction and when needed God will raise up evil against those who will not go in God's way.)
 
23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

Here is an other example.  The children of Judah in Jerusalem sinned against God, both men and women.  The women went onto the rooftops of houses in Jerusalem and presented offerings to what they called "The Queen of the heavens."  Their husband knew they were doing this.
 
The penalty for that sin:  God raised up the king of Babylon against the people of Judah.   God pronounced 70-years-captivity in Babylon.
 
The king of Babylon took the king of Jerusalem captive and killed his sons in front of his eyes.  
 
After his sons were killed before him, the king of Babylon put out king Zedechia's eyes, bound him in chains, carried him away to Babylon and kept him there until he died.
 
Some of the people of Jerusalem escaped into Egypt. But God had told them not to go down into Egypt  but to submit to captivity in Babylon.  But they would not obey God.  So God raised up an adversary against the King of Egypt and the people from Jerusalem who escaped into Egypt to avoid being taken in Babylon were killed in Egypt.
 
I think we see 2 things:
 
When we refuse to do things God's way, there comes a time God judges us.  God puts HIS face against us for what we are doing.
 
God raises up an evil adversary against us when we refuse God as HE did with Solomon and Jerusalem.
 
Romans 13:4  For HE is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for HE beareth not the sword in vain: for HE is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 
 
Deuteronomy 30:15  See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;  
 
16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in HIS ways, and to keep HIS commandments and HIS statutes and HIS judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
 
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
 
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
 
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
 
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey HIS voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto HIM: for HE is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
 
Joshua 23:15  Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until HE have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

Jeremiah 44
 
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
 
2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,
 
3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke ME to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.
 
4 Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
 
5 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
 
6 Wherefore MY fury and MINE anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.
 
7 Therefore now thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
 
8 In that ye provoke ME unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
 
9 Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
 
10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in MY law, nor in MY statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
 
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set MY face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
 
12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
 
13 For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
 
14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
 
15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
 
16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken unto thee.
 
(They will not listen to Jeremiah the prophet which God sent, they declare.)
 
17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
 
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
 
19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
 
20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,
 
21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the Lord remember them, and came it not into his mind?
 
22 So that the Lord could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
 
23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, nor walked in HIS law, nor in HIS statutes, nor in HIS testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.
 
24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the Lord, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:
 
25 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
 
26 Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the Lord, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord God liveth.
 
27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
 
28 Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or their's.
 
29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the Lord, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
 
30 Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
 
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
 
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
 
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
 
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction (visit: to go to them to judge if they have any need that you can supply), and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
 
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness

God has created a new heaven and a new earth for the elect of God, for the ones who belong to HIM.
 
God gave the apostle John a vision of that new heaven and new earth, the new Jerusalem.

Revelation 21
 
1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
 
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
 
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
 
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
 
(We will not have these present physical bodies in heaven.  I Cor. 15:48-51)

Dealing with destructive, troubling, negative thoughts

A few days ago, I felt a heavy heart coming upon me.  I was being pulled down in heart, mind, spirit.  Fortunately I remembered to give thanks to God for all HE has given me and provided for me to have at this point in my life.
 
I began saying to God:
 
*  Thank YOU for my salvation.
 
*  Thank YOU for providing another believer for me to live with, who is person of faith in God as I have faith in God.
 
*  Thank YOU for our animals.
 
*  Thank YOU for our car.
 
*  Thank YOU that we have no debt.
 
*  Thank YOU for the place we live.
 
*  Thank YOU for the house we live in.
 
Acts 17:26  (NIV Original translation)
 
HE (God) determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

It is the devil who brings to our mind negative and troubling thoughts.
 
When we begin thanking God for all HE has allowed us to have in this life, the devil flees from us!  Joy returns.
 
Live continually, daily in peace, joy, assurance of that promised by God in the Holy Bible.

When we love the other person, we genuinely care about his well being

A few days ago, I was speaking to one of our church members and she told me they had been out to look at TV's.  She said they were trying to decide between a 65" TV or 85".  I have an 85" and it has been wonderful!  So I told her how great I've found it to be even in a small room.  (The wall in my small bed room is 12' and I sit 9' from the front of the TV and love it!)
 
Later I was speaking to another person from our small church group.  She told me she was replacing her TV with an 85".  She was planning to purchase a smaller TV not realizing how much larger her wall is where the TV hangs.  (I find people often fail to realize how much wall they have for TV and a much larger TV can go in that area than they think.)
 
I said to this woman, "Oh ... tell Barbara what you are buying."
 
She replied, "I can't do that."  
 
I said, "Why not?"
 
She replied,  "I don't care what she puts into her house."
 
Instantly God showed me something.  "We should care."  
 
Caring is loving.  If we love a person we are interested in helping that person to make the best choice when we have had experience with a subject.
 
I find I care, even about strangers.  If I was at a TV section of a store, And I saw a total stranger looking at TV, I would likely tell that stranger my experience with larger screen TV's, not wanting that stranger to make a mistake and also wanting the "best" for that stranger.  For I truly want the best for the other person ... even a stranger ... now God shows me to care is love toward that other person.

1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
 
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
 
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
 
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
 
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
 
They may even join a church but deny the scriptures or fail to care what happens to other people.
 
We certainly don't want to be like that.  And if we should find ourselves not caring, we should pray asking God to help us in this area and cause us to love that other person enough to not want that person to make a mistake that would hurt him.
 
For it is God who teaches us to love others, even more than ourselves.

Be diligent to go to God in prayer seeking healing of heart and spirit from God

Avoid hearing person speak or looking at a writing if you think the other person might be speaking wrongly

When I see men wearing long robes, I avoid hearing what such men are speaking, knowing it might be evil or wrong.
 
(Today Catholics and other strange religions often seek praise of men by dressing in what appears to be religious garments.  None of the apostles or ministers in the New Testament Bible are shown to dress in ways to make them appear righteous to other men.)

If we listen when we suspect evil doing, we will likely sin and become angry by that said by the other person.

* I try to avoid strife, anger, fear ... (and I deal with such if I do feel this way by taking the matter to God as soon as I can asking God to heal me.)
 
* I would avoid all electoral ads on TV for any politician, animal fund raising, children hospital fund raising, disaster fund raising ... (I feel the world deals with this and as the church I help the church.  I often pray for animals and children.)

* When I go out into the world, and return home, I often pray:  "Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, and renew in me a right Spirit."  (Psalm 51:10)

Blameless:
 
* I would not want to take advantage of another person or merchant.
 
* If I hear myself speaking in a scornful way about another person, I would know I have taken sin into my heart and I would ask God to forgive me and straighten me up.
 
* I try to keep a "right" Spirit and speak and write to other when being in a right Spirit.  If I'm upset I try to straighten the matter up with God and then speak or write.  I do not want to write or speak with the wrong spirit.

Sometimes God will heal us even when we don't know we need to be healed!

On the day they announced the jury verdict on the Donald Trump trial, God brought me a healing concerning the way I felt about Donald Trump.
 
The morning of the last day of the trial before the jury verdict was announced something happened to me.  
 
That morning, all of a sudden it was as if a weight was lifted from inside me.
 
At first I didn't know what the subject was.  But I was so happy and free.  
 
Then I realized it was concerning Donald Trump.

I'm a non-political person.  
 
As a child, my father said his father always told him "Stay out of politics and never take any of their give-aways."  
 
My mother and father did not vote and were not registered with either party, so far as I know,

The first time I was aware of the name "Donald Trump" was on a television weekly show where he fired someone each week.  I did not like the show and thought this man who was doing the firing to be very harsh and unpleasant, and crude.  
 
I only saw him two or three times, briefly on the episodes and then I watched that show no longer on TV.

To show you how little I think about politics ... During the presidential election when Jimmy Carter was elected president, I was visiting my parents and one of them mentioned a man named "Jimmy Carter".  I said, "Who is Jimmy Carter?"   
 
My parents were shocked that I had not heard of him before, since he had just been elected President of the United States.

I'd never thought much about how our government works in USA but I do recall our elementary school teacher saying the reason it worked is that the 2 party system provided a natural check and balance, so not much ever happened.

Through the years, if a politician came on TV or if a news story came on about politics, I changed channels, having no real interest in politics.
 
I never registered to vote except one time and that was because some of my friends, when I was a young teacher, were going to vote and they insisted I go with them.
 
They showed me the process and told me I had to register for one of two political parties.  I don't recall which one it was.  They told me which party to register with and I can't remember whether it was Democratic or Republican.  It meant nothing to me at all. That was in sometime in the late 1950's.
I never voted again.

I was born in 1937.  Presidents (and wars) came and went.  I usually knew the name of the President, but rarely listened to any of them them speak.
 
I was born again August 5, l975.
 
I continued my non interest in politics.

In 2016, there was a woman running for president.  I remember wondering if she were elected, would they call her husband, "The first husband?"
 
I recall hearing that "Donald Trump" was this woman's opponent.
 
(I kept thinking of "Donald Duck"... remembering that "You're fired" TV program.)
 
I never heard either of the candidates speak during the campaign. 
 
Again, I did not vote and I heard Donald Trump was elected.

When there was a press conference on TV, I began listening to some of that ... briefly.

Mr. Trump shocked me when he began demeaning the female reporters who asked him questions.  I especially recall a reporter named, "Connie Chung" because Mr. Trump seemed even more harsh with her.
 
I only listened to a few minutes of these press conferences during that first year Mr. Trump was president.  (I continued to think of Donald Duck"  as president.)

I happened to be watching TV on January 6, 2020, when some men were speaking to a mob of angry people.
 
Something was obviously going on, so I continued watching.
 
I heard Mr. Trump speak to them.  He was President at that time.  I didn't know what they were upset about.  But they were obviously mob angry.  Mr. Trump was stirring them up with his words.  And he was telling them they would have to march to the capitol building and "he would be there behind them." 
 
I watched them as they stormed the capitol and broke into the building.  
 
It was a riot against the capitol building, breaking windows and fighting back the police who were trying to keep them back.
 
They got inside and were calling out the name "Nancy", who they were hunting.
 
Later they had broken into some of the offices and some individuals were shown sitting at the office desks, one man with his feet up on the desk.
 
I saw the Secret Service hurrying Mike Pense downstairs to safety.
 
I knew this man was Vice-president of the United States.  Some of the mob were hunting him, and it appeared he was in danger from the mob.
 
I saw some of the mob in the assembly room of the capitol building.  They were wandering around looking at the head podiums in the speakers area.
 
Finally the news people explained the situation.  
 
The mob had come to Washington DC at the request of President Trump who asked them to be there that day, January 6, 2020. 
 
The goal:  To stop the counting of electoral votes for President of the United States.

I've never seen anything like this before in USA but it was obviously an attack against democracy as we have know it. (These people attacking seemed to be citizens of the United States.)
 
I was very sorry to see this for I think our way of government works pretty well, on a whole, as governments go!

On subsequent days, some of the mob were arrested and put in jail, and later tried and sent to prison.
 
But the person who called the mob to the gathering at Washington DC, and sent them to the capitol, was not charged with anything nor put in jail for instigating the riot although we all watched Mr. Trump do this on national TV News live at the time.
 
We saw a sign carried by one of the mob.  The sign said, "Hang Mike Pence."  We saw a rope formed into a noose and a wooden type of scaffold in the yard of the White House or capitol where the mob gathered.
 
Some of the mob carried weapons of metal type pieces of rods.  Some even had guns.  They "stormed the capitol" breaking windows of the building and forcing doors to open ... and they went inside and began wandering through the various hallways, going into some of the closed rooms.
 
It was pretty fully shown on various TV news stories in the USA.

By this time, I was pretty interested in what had happened and what was going to happen to that Mob and especially to Mr. Trump who called the mob to come to Washington DC for that specific day and sent them to the capitol to stop the counting of electoral votes for President of the United States!
 
I think I heard each session of the Congressional Committee which later investigated the situation.
 
Apparently I took evil into my heart when nothing was done concerning the man, President Trump, who formed the mob and incited the attack itself.
 
There was no execution of justice in the matter.
 
This really upset me.

To me, this was the beginning of the end of democracy in the United States, as we had known it, and it would only be a matter of time before another type of government would be formed in the United States.
 
I think I began to hate Donald Trump when he would say the election of 2020 had been stolen.  To me this was not true.

God did not want me to have hatred against anyone, so God simply changed my heart and cleansed my heart and Spirit, and removed the evil from my heart on the morning of Thursday, May 30, 2024, ... before the jury announced the verdict in the Donald Trump"Hush Money" trial late that afternoon.

Other people often try to get us to do that which they are doing.  They may not know what they are doing is opposite to that which God wants.  What they are doing may "seem" right to the majority of the people around them.  But it may not be godly.
 
2 Thessalonians 5:21   Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
 
Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When I come in contact with people of this world, often they are friendly and smile and I am quickly taken in, thinking them to be "good guys".
 
God reminds me that Paul told us what people are really like in the end times.

God sends a strong delusion that they will believe a lie

Learning about God's judgment

Recently I re-read the Book of Jeremiah.
 
If you want to view the way God judges that which we do on this earth, I suggest you read the Book of Jeremiah.
 
You will see the people of God doing evil.  You will witness their failure to turn from their evil when God sends HIS prophet to warn them.
 
Then over and over you will see God assign penalty for that which they do which is against HIS will.
 
You will see how God judges.
 
And I believe you will see why Hitler was raised up by God and what is coming next upon USA for refusing to judge properly.

Seek God!

Pam Padgett was diagnosed with a severe form of bladder cancer in September, 2022.  The doctor told her she must have chemotherapy followed by the surgical removal of her bladder.  The doctor said she would die within 2 years unless she took immediate action.  They began sessions of chemotherapy immediately with plans to remove her bladder after these treatments.
 
Pam sought God immediately.
 
Just because a doctor tells you something doesn't mean that is the only way to go.  God may know another way.
 
Pam said to God:  "I don't mind having chemotherapy but if there is another way other than removing my bladder, please work it out for me."
 
There was another way and God caused it to be revealed to Pam.
 
This remarkable story is recorded on this Podcast.
 
And it should encourage each of us to "Seek God" regardless of what other humans might tell us.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
 
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
 
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
 
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
 
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
 
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
 
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
 
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
 
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
 
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
 
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
 
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
 
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
 
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
 
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
 
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
 
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
 
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
 
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
 
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
 
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
 
24 Now unto HIM that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of HIS glory with exceeding joy,
 
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Keeping yourself in joy, peace, and faith

Sometimes we awake in the morning and are instantly troubled.
 
We can turn this around by thanking God. Devils flee when we thank God for those good things that HE has allowed into our lives. 
 
Being thankful to God is one of the powerful weapon we have in spiritual warfare.

Day of vengeance.

Hebrews 10
 
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
 
20 By a new and living way, which HE hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, HIS flesh;
 
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
 
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
 
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;)
 
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
 
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
 
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
 
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
 
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
 
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
 
30 For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto ME, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge HIS people.
 
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
 
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

"I the LORD love judgment." (Isaiah 61:08)

judgment:  The end of the matter; a misfortune or calamity viewed as a divine punishment;
 
I've seen salvation through judgment.  Often people change when they see the frailty of their bodies and sometimes they know then that their only hope is in God who created the heaven and earth when they see their helplessness.
 
And God saves us by truth.
